Hello everyone!
I’m Leontine and and I just joined this community. I’ve been creating content on Patreon since about 3 months. I am a full time pencil artist and I focus on pet portraits, wildlife and nature. My goal is to help others improve their drawing skills by uploading long narrated tutorials, weekly tips and demo’s.
Very excited to be here! I hope to learn a lot about marketing:)
Moin,
I’m a boring guy from Germany who thought he could get some feedback/financial support for tutorials, quicktips and other stuff he did and continues to do on various software. Not sure if that will work out, so I am also - slowly - adding other things I like to do (like short stories about a little Vertex - or may be music?) until, one day, I get unbelievably rich through Patreon and can concentrate 100% on … things.
Hello! My name is Kyle, I am a game designer, focusing on tabletop RP games. If you have any questions about myself, just ask.
Heya.
Um… My real name is Lochlan Miles. I’m still going through school, and what I do right now is I stream video games as much as I can (emphasis on AS MUCH AS I CAN).
I hope that maybe I could get some advice to help me out with trying to maybe later on do what I do as a career. And also I would like to help this community grow as much as I can.
I’m sorry if anyone is still confused about me or any of this. But it’s okay…
I’m confused about myself at this point as well

Hi Everyone,
I’m Alison from Vancouver and I’m pretty new here. I only heard about Patreon in March. I am delighted to have been invited to join this community.
I am interested to hear how the many prosperous creators develop their following on Patreon. It seems to me there has to be a subtle shift in thinking for regular people to become patrons.
I write new age non fiction. You can see my website here http://www.starzology.com/ and my Patreon page here https://www.patreon.com/starzology.
I look forward to getting to know you guys and the passion that drives your art/work.
Warmly,
Alison
Hello there, fellow creators! I’ve been using Patreon on and off for a while now, and I’m super excited for this new avenue of connection. See y’all 'round the 'verse!

Hello, my name is Susan. My Patreon is https://www.patreon.com/susansherayko. Thank you for inviting me to join the Creator Community. I enthusiastically support Patreon’s activities, even while I wonder what it takes to be successful here. I’m hoping you can lend some insights.
I work in film and television. At this time, I am an Executive In Charge of Production and Line producer for a show on Hallmark Channel. That’s my day job. In my spare time, I lead another life, as an author of my first book, Rainbows Over Ruins. To market it, I speak online, have produced a podcast and developed a course which is available online. It’s based on information that changed my life. Empowering people to discover and achieve their dreams is my passion. I hope that Patreon will prove to be a space where I can develop the relationships that enable me to keep pursuing this work.
Looking forward to the journey with you,
Susan
Karen here … waves
I’m learning to promote my writing and helping my friend develop her art page as well. I’m looking forward to studying how Patreon works in more detail and sharing ideas.

Hello fellow humans.
My name is Damien James and I’ve recently launched my Patreon.
I’m an artist and writer. After working for someone else for 21 years, I’ve decided to quit my day job and take a leap of faith. After less than a month, I have 8 patrons, and I’m feeling optimistic.
I’ve been making and showing art for the last twelve years, having participated in over 70 shows, and I’ve been writing for various publications - in Chicago and beyond - with probably around 100 pieces published, on art, culture, randomness…
It is my goal to build community through Patreon, and to gain some help in sustaining myself through that community. I look forward to building enough of a base here that I can begin supporting others through Patreon as well.
If any of you would be willing to check out my Patreon, I would be grateful for feedback.
Love,
Damien
Hi Damien, Great growth right off the bat on your Patreon site! I think your layout looks great and I loved that you included links in your pledge levels to examples on your website – saw that and thought immediately “I should do that too!!”
Best of luck to you with the “leap” – I also gave notice at my day job and I vacilate between feeling very fortunate and excited (more time to do what I love, yay!) and terrified that I’ve made a financially reckless decision that’s going to bite me…
Cheers,
Jenny Ballif “Science Mom”
Hi Susan,
I think your site looks nice and I like your description of your background and goals. I’d suggest including a video and putting images on your reward tiers. We’re a very visual culture at the moment and images/videos do make a difference. And the video doesn’t need to be one that includes footage of you, necessarily, just as an example - Kameron Hurley has a video that’s a powerpoint slideshow (basically) with some narration. And the images she uses in the tiers are open source photos.
From one newbie to another – best of luck!
Jenny Ballif
Thanks so much for your “newbie” comments, Jen. I especially appreciate
the fact that the video doesn’t have to be footage of me. I don’t know why
I’m so shy about being on camera. If you were to go to my you-tube
channel, you’d see my author video there. But I’m much more shy of the
camera than you might believe. I’m in the middle of preparing powerpoint
videos for the course. So what you say makes me feel much better.
Thank you, thank you.
Susan
Glad to hear it @ssherayko! It is hard to be in front of a camera. I still sometimes have these “augrgh” moments before I make a video about not wanting to be filmed.
