Hi,
I’m making a 3D and 2D open-source game engine. It’s a little cool in a number of ways – open-source, cross-platform (desktop, mobile, web), using modern Object Pascal (fast and safe language), using a lot of asset formats for game data (X3D, Collada, Spine…). You can check it out on https://www.patreon.com/castleengine
I’ve been doing it for a couple of years now, and since 2 months I’m trying to get some support through Patreon, and so far Patreon looks very promising for me.
Regards,
Michalis
I’m here, like most others I assume, to figure out how to optimize the Patreon platform. I’m very new, but the account is taking off, but I figure what goes up can certainly come down if I don’t keep the content fresh and lively.
Hello my name is Amy aka Surly Amy. I am a multimedia artist with a history in painting, illustration and jewelry design. I am co-host of the Maker’s Hustle podcast and I have a patreon under my name where I do science and political inspired illustration and painting. I just published The Feel Good Bar and Grill A Book About Robots You Can Color. I posted all of the illustrations for the book here on my page before I published it. I’m hoping to somehow get more involved in the larger community of creators here on Patreon. If you have any questions for me, feel free to ask. I look forward to making new friends and contacts and helping to make Patreon an even better platform. Thanks!
Hi! My name is Trevor Mahlmann. It is great to be a part of the Patreon Community now and I look forward to learning more about it and joining in the conversation. I am a professional photographer based in Indiana and my goal when making pictures is to find the angles that haven’t been explored yet. Here’s a link to my Patreon page where you can see more of my work! https://www.patreon.com/trevormahlmann
Hey all. I’m Ash and I’m an alcoholic… No wait, that’s not funny. I’m a comedian… no wait, also not true. Ok I’m an independent games designer/developer/modder - tabletop, pen and paper and video. I’ve just started a business with the wife making games. And that’s that. Apologies to any alcoholics I offended.
Hey, all. I’m Lord Burlap, and I’m super excited to pick y’all’s brains!
My name is Janie and I am a full time artist, specializing in fine pen and ink, alcohol ink, and collage/found object art. I am a retired Grants Writer/Administrator from a University, and am now living the dream.
Hi. I’m Larry. I’m interested in learning from others about the effective use of Patreon.
I have a fine arts background. For the last 5 years I’ve been producing an online resource called the Croquis Cafe (croquis is a French term for a quick figure sketch). Each we I post a new “real-time” video featuring a different model striking artistic poses, similar to art school drawing session. I have a following on YouTube of about 108,000 subscribers.
We appeal to our viewers for donations but have had modest results. We’re trying to build a patron base using Patreon, but it’s been slow going. I’m hoping to learn from other successful Patreon users. You can see my videos at CroquisCafe.org
My Patreon page is: https://www.patreon.com/CroquisCafe
Hello, I’m Andy, the photographer behind /bdsm.
Don’t be shy, take a peek! While the topic is spicy on most corners of the web, this Patreon creator page is safe for work, welcomes all ages, and features beautiful flowers as subjects.

I travel around the world, and I’m based near Seattle’s world-famous Pike Place Market. Our market is home to more than forty floral vendors who bring fresh blooms to market from all over the region, every morning. Orchids, tulips, peonies, daisies, sunflowers, dahlias, and even the humble dandelion are welcome in my studio. I like to think I can find beauty just about anywhere, but working with flowers gives me a head start!
Flowers have starred in still life arts for centuries because they are beautiful to look at, and working with the complexity and delicacy of floral structures challenges artists’ mastery of composition, color, lighting, and perspective. The project started as a personal challenge to push the limits of my camera and lighting technique. Most of my work outside of this project centers on portrait, beauty, and adventure, so the inspiration and knowledge I take away from my floral scenes translates directly to my work that you might see in a gallery or magazine.
I’ve had brilliant help along the way and I am especially thankful to the editors at NYLON and Marie Claire for running my work, my wife for being such a generous supporter, and my friends at Leica and LFI - Leica Fotografie International.
Thanks to you, too, for making Patreon such a promising and welcoming community!
I am Ryan and I am using Patreon a little bit differently…almost like a membership system for personal development stuff. The range of what I want to offer is pretty wide so I am thinking about maybe 2 accounts or more–I just read that that was possible. At the moment it is working fine.
I have lots of different ideas about how to make patreon even better. It’s great if this forum helps the team do that.
My patreon link is just my name.
Looking forward to the conversations!
Hello fellow creators,
I host a podcast called 'The Metaprogramming Podcast." I’m a cog psy student interested in the science behind how the stories we tell ourselves about life, including trauma, actually heal us.
I try to get artists, entrepreneurs, scientists, and friends to articulate their life story.
Because I am who I am, we end up talking about psychedelics, evolutionary psychology, and habits.
I’m glad to join the community and I look forward to learning and vibing with yall.
Namasteezy.
Hi, I’m Tom. Currently my patreon is for creating a fan magazine, the Frontier Explorer, for an old out of print sci-fi role-playing game called Star Frontiers. The magazine has been coming out quarterly for five years now and I’m currently working on issue 21 to be released in July. If you want to check out the magazine you can visit it’s website or jump on over to my Patreon page to check that out. I’m looking forward to seeing what discussions develop here in the community.
Hi! I’m Kyle, aka qDot.
I reverse engineer sex toys, and write open source software and drivers for them. There’s multiple reasons for this, such as:
- some users want to use toys in ways that the original company wasn’t considering
- creating new interfaces for things like accessibility
- security auditing
- art
- random stupidity
- random art stupidity
I just started a youtube channel where I’ll be doing hardware teardowns and tutorials of things like bluetooth reverse engineering in relation to sex toys. Think of it like an educational TV show except for adults.
My patreon is a way for me to stay in touch with and get input from those interested in my work, as well as fund new hardware to take apart, upgrades to filming setups, etc. I also work in non-adult reverse engineering, and I’m considering possibly running parallel campaigns for those that want to donate for projects not involving sex toys.
I’m looking forward to talks to other creators on here and getting some perspectives on how to use patreon to its full potential!
Hi,
My name is Mark. I’m just a hardly normal guy trying to navigate through an abnormal world by helping others.
I run a nonprofit that uses digital storytelling to help end homelessness. Here is a link to our Patreon page.
At its core, Invisible People is really art. Many years ago a boss called me into his office. On a table, he had a coffee table book of B&W photos of people experiencing homelessness. I said to myself “I could do this with video.” The following week he laid me off, and I then had the time.
Invisible People connects people to the face of homelessness in a direct and meaningful way that humanizes & normalizes the subject and builds empathy in the viewer. This is achieved by being ‘raw,’ unedited and unscripted as well as through the medium chosen (social media and the internet).
This is way more important and impactful than simple awareness. It’s easy for homeless people to be an ‘other.’ Mark makes them real people with stories. Once people experiencing homelessness are real, normal and sympathetic, it is easier for people to take action in support of ending homelessness. That action can be giving, donating, volunteering or voting. Empathetic awareness is critical to creating change.
I am excited about Patreon because, over the last 9 years, I have run Invisible People in my spare time. There has never been enough support to even hire one person, but the impact continues to increase so I just can’t quit.
Foundations won’t fund anything new because new things don’t fit into old buckets. Public donors like to fund charity, but charity never solved a social crisis. If I were making sandwiches for people there would be lots of support, but I my work is about something much bigger!
Invisible People is the ONLY education-based nonprofit working to end homelessness in the United States (and possibly the world). There is zero funding for education and awareness in the homeless sector although the work is ever so important.
Already in the short time I have been on Patreon, I have seen more support coming in from the general public than I have in nine years. Not sure, but I think Patreon helps change the paradigm of what I do back to art and people will support that.
There is a lot to learn and I look forward to getting to know everyone. If you have a suggestion or some feedback, please share.
Mark
Sounds fascinating!
My name is Jeannie and I am creating curriculum on trauma and recovery, programs for survivors of human trafficking, and writing a book based on my story. I was referred to this site by a friend and found it to be a helpful tool in raising support. One of my followers even sends me feedback on unpublished materials that I posted!
I look forward to learning from those who have been doing this longer than I and who are more creative than I. Hopefully, I can contribute to the community, as well - at least as an encourager!
Hi! My name is Chelsea M. Cameron and I’m a queer romance author (who also writes plain m/f non-queer romance). I’ve been using Patreon as a way to post new work, short stories, extra content, writing advice, and essays on queerness/sexuality/gender. It’s sort of a mishmash of all of the things that I have rattling around in my brain. I’ve been on here since last December and I’m absolutely loving this way of getting content to readers who want it. Also, since my writing income can be unpredictable, knowing that I have a definitive source of money each month is SO nice. My goal is to be able to pay my rent with my Patreon. I still have a long way to go, so any tips are appreciated!
