Hi all (and thankyou @laurab for the link!!)
I’m Tallulah, an eclectic sort of visual creative, based in Australia.
My bread and butter work tends to be natural history illustration but I also really enjoy working on steampunk, fantasy and random things like, at the moment, Japanese stencil design.
I’ve been on Patreon for three years offering colouring pages, postcard and original art to my patrons, most of whom are people I know in person in some way. My patreon is currently a little unfocused - in that it shares what I am working on in my studio at any time - which is often the illustrative equivalent of a five year old with a butterfly net - you get butterflies, but also moths, frogs, centipedes, dried leaves and the occassional piece of lego.
I am hoping to develop a wider and more Patreon-interactive community of followers and patrons through the outcomes of this workshop. At the moment, though I know my patrons love what I do, few of them are the sort to comment or respond to polls or questions, thus it does feel like I am posting images into the void at times.
I love collaborations and cross pollenating with other creatives, translating ideas into images, especially quick turn over sketches. I’d be keen to make connections for possibly future limited run projects beyond this event. There are so many potential ideas! I plan to follow a lot of your patreon pages to see what you do and be inspired by how you connect with your patrons.
One of my major weaknesses, and it is something I am being very conscious of with this workshop, is having too many ideas, expending my energy on dithering over which is best and then, having picked one thing second guessing it’s validity. I want to ensure that what I do does feed into existing projects/goals rather than taking me off on a tangent so that my existing projects potentially stagnate.
I look forward to coming up with a schedule and a solid plan for promoting what ever I do come up with so I have a list I can work through, ticking off things as I go.
~Tallulah
