So, I know this might go against the entire ā€œPatreon isnā€™t a discovery platformā€ idea, but with Patreon helping creators on merch, I was wondering if it would be possible to open a sub site (subdomain, subdirecotry, etc.) of the main site that is an online market/shop of sorts for merch creators have made.

For context: I was considering getting a 2020 Calender through one of the creators I follow, and thought it would be handy to have a place where I can see ā€œall the creators that are selling calendersā€.

It could use the ā€œupfront chargeā€ functionality, with the option to be a member of their community after making the purchase.

It could also use the ā€œpromotionā€ functionality to see when things go on sale, when you can purchase 2-for-the-price-of-1, etc.

Might even give more tools to creators to hold their own sales, promotion campains, mailing lists for new products, etc.

Thatā€™s quite a good idea. It could give creators another revenue stream, it could tie in with special offers ā€˜buy x and get access to y tier for one week onlyā€™ etc, and itā€™s another way to show off what we make.

Interesting ideaā€¦ Are postcards, calendars, and merch like that truly viable? If so, could be great to have some kind of setup like that. Might go in conjunction with an idea another member had - a way to automatically ship out printed matter like that.

I am actually hoping to use something like this to do gift shopping next year, and to sell products with my characters/monsters on them.

I canā€™t say how much overall demand there would be, but itā€™s got my support.

I think itā€™s a great idea! Could be good for all kinds of creators and for Patreon as a company, too.
