Searchable Posts

People have been asking for searchable posts for years, when is it going to happen? More importantly, why hasn’t it happened yet? It’s crippling the usability (and therefore attraction/success) of my Patreon page.

Is there some technical issue that makes such a feature take this long? I’d love to at least know why it hasn’t happened yet.

Tags don’t work for me because the only thing that differentiates my posts is the title of the song/tune I am teaching.

For example, just try find the post where I teach the tune “Drowsy Maggie” on my page. It took a couple minutes of loading more posts at the bottom of the page and the post is only from 2017!

Please, please, please, please, please!

Thanks
Baron

Commenting to keep this going.
Searchable posts and pinned posts are the 2 biggest feature requests we get from patrons. We tag the crap out of our posts and it’s still hard to find specific posts sometimes

Same here. I tag as much as I can by project and by category. But finding a specific post about a project? Nope. Good luck. It would be amazing to have searchable and pinned posts.

Just adding in that we could really use this feature too! We have 4 years’ of posts and having a way to search them would sometimes be a huge help. Thanks for starting this thread!

I am commenting to keep this coming to the top also. I’ve been asking for this since I started in 2015…like others, being able to search by title or keyword would DRAMATICALLY help!

Yes please to this, I also need this as a matter of urgency. It should be a basic functionality. Let’s get this right from the ground up please Patreon. It also makes me wonder about SEO in relation to Patreon.

I have over 1,100 posts on Patreon. It is no longer reasonable to think that tags are enough to help people find content. Please make them searchable.

Also bringing it to the top… - it is so important to have searchable post and pinned/sticky posts. Especially for new patrons it is such a huge help, if you have a FAQ page or important rules directly on the welcome page…

What makes it so difficult to add a search routine and also a pinned post? (e.g. pinned post are only two steps in a database and listing, so it cannot be so complicated)

Adding my voice here. My patrons ask me for this feature incessantly.

Thanks for all the support for this feature request! The update I can share at this time is that we’ve hired a lot of new people on the product teams, from leadership to engineers. They’re ramping up fast and should be firing on all cylinders soon so I can tell you lots of exciting stuff will be coming  Thank you for your patience and continued passion for improving Patreon.

Thanks for the update Mindy. Is anyone able to at least speak on why this hasn’t been prioritized in the past. It seems like a basic functionality for every website out there.

Looking forward to hearing more of what’s coming!

Hi Everyone, I’ve been an artist creator for about 1.5 years now and as we all know for each post we use tags… I have about 800 posts… posts that get buried deeper and deeper as new ones arrive. I have been asking Patreon for a search box on our creator pages. So let’s say I painted a horse a year ago, instead of my patron going thru hundreds of posts… he/she could easily just put in a search box: horse and the post would immediately come up. Does anyone else have issues with this? I feel like my hard work from a year ago is gone… as none wants to dig into tags… and keep scrolling down for hours to find that “horse”.
Or does anyone have a better idea?
Thank you

Most definitely! I have been asking for this also!

Thanks Steve! I have emailed Patreon multiple times over the last few months… but maybe if there’s more people inquiring about this feature, this could be done!

Agreed. I aim to make a post every four days and that can quickly grow to a point where some things are very difficult to find. Tags help but, in my experience, I’m not sure how much they are used.

I have emailed Patreon many times (couple times this year and last), not sure why it’s so difficult to create a “search button” on our pages. I wouldn’t feel like all my work from like a year ago has been lost… It’s actually mostly frustrating to my Patrons, they often complain about constant scrolling down thru posts to find something specific they are looking for…
