Benefit is a really good feature, but easily could be so much more.
If it could track your patron’s Lifetime Support, you could add Special Gifts to certain amount of prices.
And these special gifts would be reachable from EVERY tier, becouse it would depend on lifetime support, not on the tier your patron is in.
For example:
BENEFIT - 2 T-SHIRTS when you reached a 50 dollar lifetime support (doesn’t matter, what tier u are in)
The system would track every patron, and would notify u if someone has reached this special “goal”.
Imagine, that you could built a real interesting physical gift ladder for this, or whatever you can came up with.
I already voiced this on the other thread, but I just want to add my loud, enthusiastic support for this feature!! Being able to offer rewards to Patrons who have stuck with you for a long time would be such a boon to Patron retention, and doing this manually ranges from difficult to impossible, depending on how many Patrons you have.
I think it would be a nice feature for everyone, who has a webshop for merchs, or other physical stuff. But NOT just for them. Any “special” ideas could convert into really nice gifts. Lifetime support can really make happy those, who are stuck with u for a long time, as u said.
This is a nice idea – I was thinking a while back that it might be cool to have a special reward for people based on how LONG they’ve supported (rather than specific amount). Like a 5 year reward, perhaps…
I absolutely need something like this! Glad others agree. Being able to send Patrons a certain benefit after their lifetime pledge reaches X would be so useful.
Thanks for all the thoughts around this! What other ways do you view Lifetime Support from a Patron? Money, time, participation, following you on social channels, coming to meetups, buying early tickets? Want to be sure I capture everything you’re thinking about
I think this is a good idea, too. A lot of the “lifetime support” can actually be correlated with something non-automatic - like just giving the creator a “ding” when a patron reached a certain amount or set period of support, so you can send them a thank you email or whatever.
I am doing this but i’m checking it myself each month. I’m giving my patrons an original painting when they reach $350 and again at $1000 lifetime amount. It would be great if this was a built in feature for sure!
Yes, I agree, it would be nice to be able to issue rewards based on lifetime contribution. Not that we can’t do it the hard way, but it would be a nice feature to offer a tier for loyalty rewards.
I’ve talked about this idea before as well and have requested it. I really would love to see it implemented as I personally track my patrons lifetime pledges myself. Each month contact anyone who’s exceeded $100 and ask them if they’re interested in an art piece–it’s a bit of work however so this would greatly simplify it.
I’d suggest the following things:
Can track Dollars pledged
Can track Time pledged
Make a patron’s progress towards the milestone known
Give pages the ability to filter the patron metrics to find people who are currently at their threshold, or haven’t had the benefit fulfilled.
Maybe the ability to opt between two methods of status, as a one time thing vs. a state for someone. E.g., maybe you offer a one time perk to them, like I do, so you can ‘complete’ a milestone reward on their notes. Or maybe, every few months, you have a secret request stream for people who have been patrons for a set amount of months, and that status is permanent instead and wouldn’t require ‘completing.’
Making standard posts with these filters might be difficult, but if you can sort the patron list by this, you could send out information and perks to people via messaging.
Could even call them something like Accolades or Medals.
I recently wanted to send a gift to all of my patrons who have, over the lifetime of their patronage, given me more than $X in total pledges. I could sort the member list by that column, but couldn’t find any way of actually messaging them all at once. In the end I just bit the bullet and sat there, clicking them all one by one, pasting the same message to all of them.
Did I just miss something obvious, or can you not do this?
Hi Rich @photonstorm, thank you for this suggestion! I merged it with our larger thread about wanting to communicate and reward patrons based on their lifetime patronage. This is a popular request that I will reshare with the Product Team in our bi-weekly feedback session as they prioritize what to work on next based on a variety of factors, this forum being one of them
I’m running a 21-day challenge and it would be nice to have an option to see who’s contributed the most comments over a certain timeframe. Then, I could give rewards based on that type of participation.
I’m not sure if this is possible right now ( if it is please let me know!), but I’d like to make a feature request to track benefits for long-term patrons, ie those that have subscribed after 6 months, 12 months, etc. It’s part of a strategy I devised to retain patrons after a special offer push and it would make it so much easier if this was tracked automatically otherwise I’d have too go through my patron list individually.
