Rewards + Messages based on Patron Lifetime Support

Is there a way to offer cumulative rewards to Patrons? I’m pretty sure I read about this somewhere, but I can’t find any guides on how to set this up.
I’m going to be implementing a $5 reward tier soon, and I wanted an option to unlock that tier for people who paid $5 (or whatever sum) over time, for example a $1 tier Patron who has donated for five months. Is that possible?

As far as i know, no this doesn’t exist. People have definitely asked to have something implemented so that we can track and set milestones in the back end so that when someone reaches $XXX lifetime total, that we are notified so we can send them something a little extra if that’s what we want to do, but i’ve not heard of someone automatically getting bumped up to another tier since that would mean they now have to pay $5 monthly instead of $1, which they haven’t agreed to. (There is currently no way to gift someone a subscription either so you can’t up them for free.) At this point you would have to provide them with content manually via DM or email i think.

I would be concerned about offering too much for too little but i have no idea how you’ve set up your tiers. On my end, my $1 tier already has content that that $1 pays for. My $5 tier has that $1 content + new content for the elevated amount they pay and that $5 pays for that content and my time to provide it. If someone paid $1 for 5 months, got the $1 content and then got the $5 content, i would be short changing myself if i somehow gave them access to the $5 tier for a month. So It’s not something I would do but maybe i’m just confused about what you are looking for.

Thanks for making the suggestion, @snekguy! I merged it with the mega thread about this feature request. You may also want to watch this tier about the $1 tier and why you might want to change it.

Hi folks! I wanted to update you to say that I bought this issue up as a highly requested feature, and the team let me know this data is in your Patreon Relationship Manager. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to Patron Relationship Manager
  2. Click on the column header Lifetime to rank patrons in descending order of lifetime value
  3. Your highest LTV patrons will be displayed in descending order. By clicking on an individual patron, you can see the length of their patronage in the right sidebar

I understand that ideally you’d be notified when a patron reaches a milestone or you could set it up to automatically send them something, but I wanted to share this in case it helps anyone in the mean time

I often send someone something special after 6 months or so - they pay $5/10 a month that really adds up and they deserve something special - I wish there was a way I could say in the perk space that they get something like this but there really isn’t a proper place to do this so I usually do it all manually by reaching out. Right now, my Patreon is small enough that that is possible but it would be nice to be able to advertise that up front as well as have it more organized on the back end.

Hey Mindy! I definitely use that column in the Relationship Manager all the time. It’s awesome!

My biggest concern is that I can’t filter for LTV to send things. One of the things I would like to do is allow Patrons of a certain LTV to be beta readers, which would require regular Messages. However, that is not currently possible without messaging each person individually.

I’ll probably set up a Mailchimp or something in the meantime I suppose. But that’s my feature request!

@mindy well, I knew that already. The key feature, which I think would be the most important is to have posts that are only available after a certain LTV is reached.
