Public View

I searched and didn’t see this anywhere, but if this has been addressed please forgive me! I’m trying to view my public page to get an idea of how my posts are showing to those who do not yet pledge, but when I click to get a public view it still says my posts are unlocked, so I can’t get a feel for what my posts look like to someone who isn’t pledging. I was working on teaser texts for all of my posts, but I can’t even figure out how to see it. Is there any actual way to view my page as it would appear to someone who isn’t pledging?

I’ve had this issue as well. So what I’ve taken to doing is to open up a tab in a different browser where I’m not logged in to Patreon and go to my page from there.

That’s annoying, lol! But I can accept that as a temporary solution- I hope this can be improved on in the future as they’re making strides towards discoverability and there’s a chance that followers may be something we focus on a little more heavily (as potential pledges).
Thank you for the help!

Very welcome! And I agree, it is annoying. It’s a little less annoying for me as I generally have another browser open anyway for SM platforms where I have multiple accounts (seriously wish more places would make it easier to toggle back-and-forth when on your desktop/laptop). Better discoverability will be nice  , especially as some of us would love to move away from places like Facebook.

If you use Chrome or Firefox, you don’t need to open a new browser, they already have this as a feature built in. It’s Incognito for Chrome and Private Browsing for Firefox.

Seconding this on toggling back on forth, I don’t know how many Ello posts I’ve scrapped completely because I wasn’t able to switch to my site and grab a product link without my entire post on Ello force-closing! Drives me batty!:rofl:

Hi all!

@Danni thanks for surfacing the initial issue, I’ll ping the team and see if this is a bug that can be fixed. In the mean time, incognito windows and private browsers are very handy like @sambeawesome suggested!

@Laura_Hepworth toggling between accounts is something we’ve been asked about on a few occasions. We’re testing ways to do this now but I don’t have any updates or a timeline to share just yet. It may be a while but know that we’re actively thinking on this!

As for discoverability, in our Patreon Series E Funding Announcement we list discoverability of our creators as a priority in our next chapter! You’ll definitely hear more on this soon.

@reyna Ahhhh, that’s so exciting, I can’t wait to hear more about that, I’ve gotten really strict about limiting extra demands so that I can focus more on growing my Patreon and I can’t wait to see what you guys roll out for us! And thank you, I managed to use Opera without being signed in as a quick fix in the meantime
