How to setup Google Analytics Goals for New Patron / Thank You Page?

This should help you! LMK if not

Thank you, this is helpful. I have a concern tho, the /membership page is also visited when patrons cancel and update their subscription status right? How can I differentiate this from new subscribers?

Looking at it closely, it seems that you are no longer showing the https://www.patreon.com//membership page
On Analytics I have 0 visits to that section and I have been having some new subscribers.

Who would be able to get some clarification?

Thank you.

Any update on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

@chriscade @mindy @jbyttow Did you guys manage to figure out a solution for this? I’m specifically interested in tracking conversions to a particular tier. Is there a way to get the thank you page URL for this tier?

I haven’t seen any updates on this - still waiting for @jbyttow to give an update after he said they were working on it.

Hey all, we are hard at work and providing a solution and making sure the data is accurate. Apologies for the delay, we will definitely be adding this though.

Thanks for the update! Much appreciated. And I agree… getting the data accurate is so important for this! Thanks for staying on top of it.

OK I’m relieved it’s not just me trying to figure out how to measure conversion goals. Should this still be in a not-working state?

When this is working, it would make a great Patreon blog post so others can refer to it!

Hello, any update on this?
Thank you

I would be curious as well, asked around support but they told me they didn’t know, and to ask google analytics support, who also has no idea.

So if anyone has something, I’m all ears

@chriscade Did you manage to find a way to integrate the Facebook pixel, or to track new patrons with google analytics ? I would be very interested.

I was part of the FB Pixel beta test. It was an ā€œokā€ integration. They don’t really translate their actions to standard events very well, and I never saw a conversion (though I don’t know if that’s because the pixel integration was buggy like GA, or because I genuinely didn’t get any conversions from FB ads).

As for the Google Analytics integration, the previous bug I believe still exists. So while we cannot track conversions through Google Analytics, at the least, we can see page visits & other non-conversion data in GA.

Thank you for the answer.

Yes for google analytics I only manage to track interest in becoming a patron but no actual conversion.

Do you still have the data for the Facebook pixel, I’d like to install it, it would be really helpful as well.

i’ve been using facebook’s ā€œoffline eventsā€ feature to try and track conversions. you have to manually upload spreadsheet data for this. i’ve been doing it once a month.

There’s no way to manually install the FB pixel. I was part of a beta test, so the Patreon dev team manually coded my pixel into the backend.

Hey @jbyttow any updates regarding this issue we still waiting for it, Thanx.

I just signed up for GA and I can’t get the UA-(some code) tracking ID type out of that account. I did get a G-(some code) account. The page settings seems to want the UA type code though and when I put in the other, I get a red highlight on that box and can’t save…

Does Patreon only accept the prior version of GA? Is there a way to manually implant the tracking HTML/Javascript?

@jbyttow Have you or someone else had time to look into this some more? We really need to be able to track conversions. <3

Hello, we’d really like to be able to track new Patron conversions through Google Analytics goals. We used to use the /bepatreondone page, but that doesn’t seem to work anymore.

We want to be able to see exactly when someone signs up and ideally to which tier.

Is there any update on how best we can do this? Many thanks.
