Creator balance on hold, no notice and not sure why

Not sure what’s going on with my account, but for some reason my creator balance is on hold and I can’t withdraw it (which is not good when I have a couple of bills I need to get paid with it.)

I changed my account settings last month when, for some odd reason, it suddenly decided that it didn’t recognize my checking account any more. Updated that, went through a brief hold, and then it was fine. But now almost a month later and I’m back on another mysterious hold. The only message I have is that the Trust and Safety team have to review my account.

I sent an email in, but haven’t heard back, so hoping to get some help here. This is for https://www.patreon.com/sirwillow

I’m having the same problem. I went to withdraw my first payout and it said my creator balance is on hold. Is this just because it was my first payout? Also, when will I be able to withdraw my payout?

Hi @trenton_lewis, thanks for reaching out! It can take 1 - 2 business days to process your payout via PayPal, and 3 - 5 business days to process via Stripe and Payoneer global bank transfer. Your first payment may take a little longer, so we can verify your information. If you don’t see your payout within the new few days, please submit a ticket to T&S.

My account has the same problem. It has been on hold for close to 2 weeks now and I have emailed Patreon and made a ticket with no response to either. This is ridiculous because I need the money but can’t get it because I’m “suspicious” because I made a freakin Patreon.

I’m having the same problem too. Only thing I did was to fill and submit that tax form you ask us to fill W8BEN and then my payout was frozen because of "suspicious activity " I’m so so sad, I really needed my funds to pay some bills. I wish someone could explain me what’s going on. I had no idea this was going to happen :sob::cry::pleading_face:

Hello , I am a new creator and i have encountered the same problem as well. I have started my patreon since Oct 2020. So I suppose to get my first payout on the early of Nov. However, i saw the warning message from the system and wonder it is normal or not. Is there any problem with my paypal account? or is there any missed step i forgot to do. It made me so frustrated and wonder if i should spent money to promote my Patreon on FB…OR everything on hold…please help.

the warning message as below:

While your page is being reviewed, you can continue all normal activity on Patreon except for paying out your creator balance.

In order to keep creators safe, Patreon restricts the ability for creators to payout their creator balance once suspicious activity has been detected on their account. In addition to restricting payouts, a Patreon Trust & Safety team member will manually review your account and get in touch with you.

I have the same problem and I haven’t made any changes to my page, except trying to change my profile picture and failing.

Hi @mipastelart,

For all new creators, there is a 5-day hold in place from the date of adding your first payout method. This hold applied to every first payout, so we can ensure the payout is going where it’s supposed to.

@Rmaximus sorry you’re having a tough time with this as well! If you’re a new creator, like I said above, there is a 5-day holding period for your first payout. However, if this is not your first payout, there are a few different questions we can ask to figure out why you aren’t able to get your payout.

  • Do you have a payout method set up?
  • Do you have to update your bank account info?
  • Have your pledges processed yet?
  • Is there a hold on your account?
  • Are you pledging to other creators?

Hi Reyna,
I am a new creator, this is my first payout and i am having the same problem.
In my case, i have gone through the 5 days wait, gotten an email stating my funds are now available to withdraw but when i go to my payout page, it says my balance is on hold.
I have created a ticket with number #1147562
I wish to know what could be the problem.
