Please allow direct embeds for Cloudflare videos. Right now when I post a video with Cloudflare it just shows some “stream videodelivery” and when someone clicks it, it opens in a new page instead of being able to view right in Patreon (like you can with youtube, vimeo, Iplayer)
Cloudflare is a very large provider and this should probably be implemented.
A thumbnail page view of the vimeo videos we place on Patreon for a more visual navigation for our nearly 300 subscribers. We add three new videos each month and even with tags, things are getting difficult for our subscribers to find things, and will become truly overwhelming eventually. A thumbnail view where you could sort by a particular category, or at least see all the video thumbnails on one page like YouTube is what subscribers continually request.
If I could have one feature it would be bank payouts for non US creators. With Transferwise it’s easy to set up a US bank account. I don’t see why this can’t be done as I believe US creators already have the option to pay into their bank so why not let us also pay into our US accounts? That way we can save 80% on our conversion fees.
I’m honestly still waiting on the “better communication” bit. We had a few live chats with a couple employees, and then it slowed down, and no one still checks the forum. I have no idea what’s going on with any plans or goals with what Patreon is doing or focusing on.
ko-fi gold, which is 54 dollars a year, now has a way to embed their recurring donation button directly onto your website. thank you ko-fi
- Delete Patron (on my list every year since you removed it)
- Include Reward Tier in the “You have a new Patron” email. Simple addition that would make a world of difference in processing new pledges as they come in.
- Give us control over what tiers (and how many) are displayed on our landing page. (One size does not fit all and your last set of changes that limited this has been detrimental.)
Hi Patreon folks!
I am curious if there is anyone working on an option for creators to work for patrons in a more meaningful way - similar to a gig or project style payment process. It seems like it would make sense for creators to be able to engage with a patron or potential client/customer in a traditional “for hire” role for an actual creative project…
And I know this has been done - there’s lots of gig platforms out there (Fiverr, Upwork, codeable, etc) but with Patreon being such an artist/creator focused platform, it would make lots of sense to build a feature where artists and creators can communicate and engage with patrons and earn larger payments at once. I understand there would be lots of engineering that would need to happen to set this function up (estimate function, customer pays into an escrow-style hold account while the project is underway, then release the funds when the customer is happy, etc), but it could open the door to larger payments for creators (and therefore more revenue for Patreon) and would create an additional way artists/creators could monetize their network of supporters on Patreon.
Is this something that is currently being considered? Or planned for potentially at some point in the future for the platform?
So yeah I’ve been tracking the projections of my payout-per-thing this month and I just cracked open Illustrator’s graph tool for the first time in the twenty years since I’ve been using it as my main medium and…
(green bars: the four paid posts I’ve made this month; blue bars: Patreon’s projection for the next three, if I make them)
Damn, I want this in the earnings dashboard instead of that tiny little “see earnings projections” link so bad, this is a really useful thing to have as a pay-per-thing creator. It’s showing me patterns I halfway suspected would be there but the details are interesting - the way there’s almost no dropoff between Thing 1/2 or Thing 3/4, followed by a slow regular descent, feels like it’s telling me something useful about what my patron’s wallets are shaped like. Though this is also confused a bit by me getting a few new patrons over the course of the month, and by whatever fuzzing might be going on in the estimations the Earnings page is giving me.
If I actually felt like exploring AI’s graph tool and figuring out how to add in “number of patrons paying for this thing” and “total $ made” that would be even more helpful. Especially “total $ made so far”, answering the eternal “am I covering next month’s rent yet” question at one glance without having to check the projected earnings before and after every post and add it all up myself sure would be nice.
This would be SUPER helpful, especially now that some Patrons are paying for an entire year at a time. It would just make it easier for the creator, and should be REALLY easy to implement.
-Better benefit management system for physical rewards.
-Better communication especially when it comes to technical issues.
-App for creators.
-Way to payout directly to my bank.
-Better search for creators.
A larger text field when I am replying to a comment would be useful. It is difficult composing a lengthy response in such a small text field.
When receiving a notification that someone has made a comment, in response to the initial comment, I am taken to the post but not the new comment. The new comment is often hidden from view as each comment below my post is often collapsed. This means that I have to expand each comment looking for the new comment. With over 1,000 Patrons this can take a very long time.
I will continue asking for this, which I think a lot of creators would discover is SUPER helpful. I use it on other platforms like WordPress and it saves me hundreds of hours a year:

The ability to backdate podcast posts would be incredibly helpful. We’d love to add our archive of pre-Patreon era podcasts for our subscribers, but the best way to do this would be to be able to post them under the dates when they were originally posted.
Payouts via SWIFT are vital to us.
BRING BACK THE DECLINED PAYMENTS TAB!!! why oh why did you just remove it this month??? I see no logical reason at all to have removed it, instead now we are forced to download a CSV to see them
No, I mean the dashboard overall view of declines you used to see in this menu, its been there for years now gone
Hey @Geoff, I don’t remember the level of details shown on that page, but have a look at Creator Metrics, where you’ll be able to get reports like these (among many others and the ability to automatically email your patrons):
I notice that creators can receive patron’s fees through Stripe and through PayPal. We currently use the PayPal option and it works fine. We are a non-profit seeking banking services right now (we considered First Internet Bank) - but, we found out a new feature from Square! Square NOW has banking!
While I think it is wise to add TransferWise and Revolut to your Patreon’s payout options (especially for creators out of the country), I would also like to see Square Banking added to this list for 2021. I personally use Square for my business, not just this spiritual non-profit, and honestly, this would be amazing!
Thank you all who take the time to read this post. Creators and patrons alike love Patreon and I personally see why! We tried to make a community through just recurring PayPal billing, but it was unwieldy at best! Patreon makes it simple, and even if it costs more, our TIME is valuable and it is absolutely worth it.
