Update: removed patron number on tiers

Adding my weight to the consensus: seeing the number of patrons for each tier is useful both for potential patrons and creators. As a patron, you are guided to what’s popular, and as a creator that can also help to see what type of rewards are working/not working. Silly.

I’ll echo the thoughts of several here:

  • The social proof can be very influential on the decision of prospective patrons. Seeing a lot of existing patrons at higher tiers may encourage people to join at those tiers. Most of my patrons are at my middle - high level tiers instead of the $1.
  • On the other side, it could be problematic if most of a creator’s patrons are at a $1 tier. So an option to toggle the display for this would probably be the best way to approach this. This way if a creator doesn’t want the number of patrons visible for whatever reason they can choose to do so.
  • As several have mentioned, it helps with knowing how many prints/stickers/etc. to order!
