Special Offer - share your visuals?

I would love to see what are others doing to visually fancify your Patreon for your special offer.

I spent a bit of time this morning putting this together to put on the top of my Patreon - my plan is to do a live cast creating the sticker half way through the campaign, and then change out the banner to show pencil, ink and finished stages of the limited reward.

I think for instagram and twitter I will also probably make use of the duck magnets in the above, along with sticky notes for count downs. I might make another two duck designs ahead of time so I have one for each day of the week.

That was a great question! I would also love to see examples of special offer banners. Yours was very clear. I’m sharing the one I created for my facebook cover photo. I have another rendition for instagram. I kept it very simple.

That is fantastic - I hadn’t thought of doing one for Facebook. Thank you for the idea!!

Yes! Congrats! looks great!!

Looks so good! I love how clearly you highlight the benefits, including with great art, and have a clear call to action right there in the banner!!

This is a modified version of the banner I used when I launched my Patreon last year.
I wanted to include that this is an exclusive piece of Patreon merch (I’ve been selling this design as a t-shirt for years and people really like it but I’ve never made pins before. If I do print some to sell at shows I’ll do it in a different color) but I ran out of room. Do you think it works anyhow?

The banner doesn’t specify that existing $5+ patrons will get a pin, but I’m going to message them on launch day to clarify.

Worth mentioning - I think this is going to be a bit of a loss leader for me. I currently have about 70 patrons at $5+, which is great, but printing and mailing pins to everyone is probably going to get expensive quickly (especially with international shipping)…BUT I don’t want to restrict it to $10+ because

a) that seems expensive for a pin, and
b) I think some $1 and $3 people are likely to level up for the pin, and
b) I think people are more likely to stick around at a $5 pledge level, which is the end goal.

I’d love to know your thoughts!

This is beautiful! I’m in a similar position, doing a $5 special offer that’s clearly going to cost more overall, because my next tier up doesn’t make sense for me.

Are you also using that banner for your social media, or is it just for Patreon?

I like your reasoning for doing the $5 level instead of $10. I am doing a limited edition zine and am wavering between offering it to $5 or $10 patrons. Might be okay to take the loss on this particular item to attract new patrons in hopes that they will stick around for $5/month. decisions!!!

I just launched and I made a video announcement.

I need to work on a banner today! Thanks for the inspiration!

We did banners for all our social media, in addition to a square version to post on instagram, twitter, FB feed etc.

I’ve since update my banner since I’ve the sticker design on the way. Once my followers and patrons have voted on which is the sticker design then I’ll update it with the next step in the process - sketch to line-work to finished sticker for the last sprint to the closing date.

I can’t say I’m up to the standards set here, but hey, my artistic skills are what they are!

Thank you so much! Still no new pledges, but I’m going to keep doing the work.

I just started the campaign over the weekend and the response has been very promising. Existing patrons seem excited and new Patrons are coming in at the $5 level.

I’m used to taking IG photos. I need to practice taking photos for banners. We have some beautiful murals in my town, so I should be able to get a few good photos ready for next time I change my banner.

Thanks for the canva.com recommendation. I don’t know how I would have done all this without it!

Here’s a look at how the pin turned out…

And on thebacking card (which ended up being a bit larger to fit all the names) …

I have another Patreon promo in the works for November but I plan to make the pin available through another Special Offer in December.
