As far as I understood it, they ran a beta program for this, invited certain creators and gave them instructions.
I don’t see it rolled out to everyone yet. But I would also like to know when this is coming.
The article linked above only describes the idea, not how we would add and track that in the backend.
@KatieThompson I can tell you it’s coming out very very soon! you’ll be able to have access to the handbook and guidelines very soon, keep an eye on the forum for the official launch I’ll tag you in when I’m able to bring the good news to you.
I know the special offer is run via a timeline, but is there any chance you might make it possible to run it so that it is a limited amount of an item? For instance, If I have 10 stickers to giveaway and want to do that as a special offer, I can’t limit the offer to ten new backers - i HAVE to do it with a time limit which doesn’t help me with the fact I only have ten stickers. Thanks!
Thanks Mindy, yeah this would really be a brilliant thing for me anyway. Especially for things like original art. If I want to give away art then I can’t cap it with the current system.
I hear you! Special Offers based on your output is a good way to ensure you don’t overburden yourself and could help you offer even more special rewards, something like a mini custom portrait. You could do 10 of those but you wouldn’t want to do 50.
Yeah I couldn’t do 50, it just would take up too much time. 10 is doable however! Or depending on the detail in the paintings, I might want to only do 5!
Definitely want the same thing. This would be great for commissions. I can’t do them every month, so it’s not just a matter of limiting the number. I was only able to do them one month this year and ran it as a special offer, but it would be great if it had the highlighting of a special offer.
Would also work great for limited print runs or any item you could only offer in limited quantity, but didn’t necessarily want to limit the time on. Would certainly help to make sure you weren’t stuck with a lot at the end or ran out while a special offer was still running.
