Poll Improvements

Some suggestions for improvements to polls, a feature I use with all three of my patreons!

  1. Allow the results to be hidden until the poll is closed. (A checkbox selected when making the poll)

  2. Allow tiers to be assigned a ‘voting strength’, defaulting to 1. Multiply any vote someone of a tier makes by their voting strength to determine its effect on the poll. So if someone with a voting strength of 3 votes for something, it gets 3 votes instead of 1.

  3. A way to randomize the order of a given poll, so each time you look at it, the order of the items are randomized. (A checkbox selected when making a poll)

Bump to this! All these ideas are great and I was just about to suggest a couple of them.

I would also like to suggest an increased maximum amount of options. 25 is not enough for me in many cases when we have collective competitions with 30-40 participants. Having to split it into two polls makes the result more difficult to judge, besides the obviously tedious process of having to do this.

I think 50 would be a better limit, if a limit should exists. But why have one? If someone need more options, why limit them?

Hey, someone’s reading this! Yeah, polls are great for engagement, able to get responses from the quietest of backers. A little extra effort and they’d be even better!

When launching a new poll today, my Patreons themselves requested a feature to make the polls blinded as they felt viewing the status beforehand introduced bias.

I really hope Patreon would implement this feature soon as I have many important polls this year with my Patreons.

It would be helpful also to be able to see how many participants the poll has.

At the moment, let’s say in a poll with 25 options, where anyone can vote for as many options they want, it’s impossible to know if a poll with 250 votes is from 30 or 250 people.

Strong yes on this idea.
