Pledge Fluctuation - Normal?

Howdy. Over the last few months, the amount pledged to our Patreon has gone from $300 to $500+ to back around to $350. Is this normal? Do other guys experience bursts of growth and then a lapse back?

There were no single large patreons that joined and left.

Just wanted to know if others were experiencing something similar.

Hard to say… My pledge total goes up and down but it is largely dependant on what I post.

I had dropped in numbers quite a bit but after posting one exclusive story I recovered everything lost and more.

I think without knowing what kind of audience and demographics you have it’s hard to say exactly why totals go up and down.

i think fluctuations are normal and most likely seasonal as well (haven’t gone through a full calendar year yet… but we’re keeping tabs).

the best remedy to any fluctuations is going to experiment and engage with your audience… outside of that… it’s really not in our control!

It’s normal. My pledges fluctuate all the time. As long as you’re making steady growth upwards over the year, it really shouldn’t be a problem.
If you’re steadily declining however, then it’s time to look at your rewards and maybe see what more you’re able to offer.

I’ve noticed in my case, as I post throughout the month and do not do paid posts because I enjoy posted and don’t think it’s fair to charge multiple times a month for content, I will get pledges and after they’ve seen their share of content will cancel. Sometimes this is because they’re satisfied and leave, but mostly it’s I’ve noticed it at the end of the month, they will cancel so they don’t get charged and have seen all that top tier content for free sadly. But I don’t believe in punishing my faithful pledges for people like that by going to paid posts. So i would say normal but still not great lol.

I will usually see a bit of a melt when payday hits lol. Usually as soon as patreon starts charging people I will drop about 50 bucks but then it will go back up throughout the next month.
