I have asked for a feature which allows me to change the level of access on a post after a certain period of time. Like the Set early access feature but for different pledge levels.
So as a result of not having the feature, I have been going through and manually setting each posts access level over time. Eg. $5 Patrons get a video for a week, then $2, then $1, and finally to the public.
The problem is, as I have been informed by Patrons, is that the post doesn’t show up on anyone’s feed if the access for it has been moved from $5 to $2 or $1. The only way Patrons are able to see or access the post is via the email that gets sent when access is granted or the post is reposted again.
As this doesn’t happen with the set early access feature for the public, my guess is hat this is a bug solely from changing the level of Patron access.
Can we get this fixed please? I have Patrons unable to view content if they have notifications turned off. I assume this is why I’ve had so many lower pledges drop the past couple of months.
I need a fix on this ASAP or an integration of the set early access feature for Patrons only.
I would really like to be able to select individual or multiple levels for posts to be seen by, not by $ levels and up.
This would be helpful as some levels are specific for a certain number of people and some posts only apply to them. The way it is now, I have to email them outside of Patreon. Similarly there are some rewards that go out to multiple levels that I would like to select individually.
It would be fantastic if there was a way to share reward tiers to directly to social media. For example, this month I have a May only reward limited to the first 3 who claim it. Naturally I made a post for it that I am sharing across social media, but it would be so much more efficient if I were sharing the tier itself so when it was clicked it took people directly to the patron checkout where the tiers are chosen and they could see how many are remaining.
Oh! I do this. Right clicking on the “get this reward” button on your reward of choice gives you a direct link. :3 (Though i have no idea if direct linking actually shows how many were remaining or if it persists even if the tier is full. @carla ? )
I often rely on Polls, but there’s something I’d really LOVE to see implemented:
An option in Poll’s settings to assign a different “weight” to votes depending on tiers.
Like it would be nice to assign a different value to votes like:
1$ patrons vote = counts as 1
5$ patrons vote = counts as 2
10$ patrons vote = counts as 5
and so on.
I think having higher tiers votes counting more than lower tiers would make so much sense, not to mention it may even encourage patrons to pledge more.
Being a Spaniard, I wanted my Patreon page to be in English and Spanish, so all my texts are twice longer than they should be. This is visually ugly and more complicated, but I know not everybody can understand English!
Actually, some of my readers told me they haven’t become patrons because they don’t understand even how to do it! It’s sad, but true.
Also, I have heard some times about sites that are “a kind of Patreon, but in Spanish” or in French. Why “a kind of”, when it shouldn’t be so difficult to have the original?
I think you might consider adding an English/Spanish/French button to switch language, so potential patrons could at least read the few text you put on creators pages (like “is creating”, “become a patron”, “pledge”, info on credit card, etc). I think it shouldn’t be difficult.
Plus: use a Google translator (or similar) button to help readers translate the original posts (that would also help English speaking patrons understand posts of creators in other languages).
Then you might hire somebody speaking Spanish/French for support emails, etc.
I think all this is not so difficult considering the huge amount of potential patrons you/us could add to Patreon (Spain, almost all South and Central America, France, Belgium, Switzerland, + all the ancient colonies).
I would like to suggest adding relationship manager to Android app. It would be extremely useful for anyone using a phone. Also it would be nice to have the edit page available on Android.
I can see hiding them when scrolling down the main page, but if I open a post in its own window as a creator, I always want to see all comments. The ability to sort by newest or highest rated (like youtube) wouldn’t hurt either.
