Partners/Integration Megathread

Would it be possible to get Trello integration with Patreon?

I could see it being useful for a few different ways:

  • Auto-access to a Patron-only Board
  • Have a feature similar to Card Repeater, that generates new cards on a monthly basis.

https://help.trello.com/article/1068-using-the-card-repeater-power-up#targetText=Enabling%20the%20Power-Up,on%20the%20back%20of%20cards.

All I got for the moment.

Thank you for your time.

Adding to this: Being able to populate Benefits onto my “to-do list” board would be amazing.

Ok, @mindy renamed this to Paterners/Integration Megathread, based on my recommendation to do something similar to Discord

So, I’m asking people to respond with other ideas on what could be partnered and/or integrated with.

Any information you can provide on your proposed partner would be helpful (e.g. who to contact in their organization; partnership page, if they have one; how a partnership with them would work; etc.)

Some ideas I have:

If someone could also help maintain a master list, that would be helpful ^.^.

A+ on the Trello integration! I have several boards I use for my patrons and it would be great to be able to auto-add folks to a Team or at least to multiple private boards.

Another integration I’m dying for is AmazingMail, through whom I send my monthly postcard mailings. I would like to have my patron addresses automatically become an address list on AmazingMail that autoupdates when folks on Patreon update their addresses. Especially with the layout change coming soon, and DA getting a new more professional look, I would be 100% down for this.

Some more ideas:
Tapas or Webtoons.

I know SmackJeeves added a feature to their site that patrons could get early access to pages. I think Webtoons has their own built in paid feature for this, so I’m not sure if they’d be down to work with Patreon, but Tapas might be. They seem more communicative with their userbase too.

I thought Patreon was already doing something with Webtoons?

Oh, I don’t use Webtoons so I didn’t know. Y’all can ignore that suggestion then xD

Oh!! I just thought of a thing – I’d love to have a Shopify integration the same way we have an Itch.io one. I’d love to have products and downloads that are Patron-only, but still available for purchase for everyone else.

Personally for me I would want Airtable integration, not Trello (switched from Trello to airtable a while ago). But honestly, if the patreon site itself, benefits particularly, work well, then integration is less necessary. (as i’ve requested elsewhere, to have it possible to set benefits to be reminded every 2/3/4 months or any period of time so I don’t have to track it on airtable each month for people I give rewards to every other month!

How are you using Trello with your patrons? I’ve just signed up for Trello and am still figuring out what to do with it. I’d love to see some ideas of how others are using it. Your idea sounds really neat!

I have a couple of boards, some of which are getting phased out as I change my Patreon, but nevertheless:

  • Patron Sketch Queue: Patrons with sketch requests submit their monthly requests with visual reference and a brief rundown of what they want. Each column is a month, each card is a patron’s request.
  • Patron Cameos: My patrons cameo in my comic with their characters, so this works much like the sketch queue, only with character submissions. Each column is an age bracket so I can browse what I need quickly.
  • Character Q&A: Patrons can submit questions and vote on ones they want answered. Each column is a group of characters (Primary, Secondary, Wider Cast, General/World questions).

I’m 100% for an Airtable integration! To be able to sync who is in what tier for example in order to keep track of benefits etc. More useful than Trello for tracking data

Yeah i’ve not been on Trello for over a year now but it seems it is only any use for making lists. I am using Airtable to track my every other month reward patrons (which is a bit of a pain in the bum tbh!), so I’m waiting for patreon to change the benefits tracker to be able to track any amount of time you want. Seems like a super easy fix, not sure why they’ve not done it yet as lots of other folks were into the idea too!

Yes, this! The benefit tracker has a lot of potential if they made a few changes to it. Like let us create custom time frames for benefits and one-time benefits.

To get back to the topic, TouchNote integration would be great for importing addresses.

I use Trello and didn’t realize Airtable was a thing, this is neat to find out about. I would honestly be ok to have integration with either - or, best case scenario, if the benefits tracking directly on Patreon was more in-depth, that’d be great too! less integrations and more functions on-site is probably a better option in the long run.

I would love it if there were a way to have something for Patrons to actually view, so they can see on-site if I’ve 1) shipped their physical mail, or 2) am working on xyz for the month/what stage I’m at in the process. I link my Trello often for people to check if their mail is shipped, but I think most people like to stay on one page.

YES to Airtable and Shopify integrations! I’d also like to see integrations for Asana and Apply Music/Spotify.

Well now I have to check out Airtable! It sounds great.

Either way an integration for both or either would be fab!
