I tried sharing my traceables through Google drive and had major problems with them being shared on Pinterest. It is not secure because anyone with the link (or posting the content from the link) can view them. Just fyi. I had to shut it down after only 1 month.
That’s why I only post teasers / previews, and bot the full video or photo set.
I have no idea how to do a bot. How did you learn that? I would love another alternative.
NOT* the full video or photo set I meant, sorry. I send them by message to each patron.
Haha that is awesome. Ok makes sense. I was like wow I am so clueless!
Is anyone using some kind of self-destruct links to avoid your content being spread online? I just read about this possibility but I’m not familiar with it.
I’ve never done it myself, but I know someone who swears by them. He uses Dropbox.

Cool; will keep in mind, thanks. I wish I could do the same with google drive.
I too, would love this option. Currently I am very unhappy with the video support of Patreon. I don’t want to host on an external platform and have People share the link to my content, so this would definitely be an improvement. Currently I send videos out via email which I reall hate doing.
The Vimeo option sounds good in theory however regarding the content restrictions I agree. Have you considered going an alternative route and hosting the content on for example AWS? You could alot a certain storage limit to each creator and if they want to upload more ask them to clear up an old one. I personally think if Patreon did this natively it would be the best option.
For me not having proper video support is a major drawback for Patreon and I‘ve even considered opening up an OnlyFans page just because of their video integrations.
Hi @KatieDoll! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
I recently joined Crowdcast so that I could protect my videos. You can set it so that Patreon members have to login to watch the video. If you don’t do livestreaming I think you could play the recording in a private livestream and then change the visibility. Just a thought. The drawback, of course, is having to pay for the service.
I wanted to close the loop on this thread and say this feature was officially launched! Here’s the announcement post:
Huge thanks to the team who worked on this and for everyone who gave such amazing feedback
