NSFW or soft porn?

Agreed. I had a SFW and a NSFW project and for a long time managed both at the same time because my NSFW page would just get hidden away. I have since merged them (because holy moly is managing two a royal pain when you have to make separate accounts) and have to classify my project as NSFW and now no one except those on other platforms that watch me and can see my links, can watch me. (I had my NSFW project listed on my SFW project with a proper warning and i ended up getting a lot of people finding that page through there because they could search my SFW account but not my NSFW one.)

I understand why NSFW projects are not searchable. You (patreon) want to make sure that minors cannot stumble upon the stuff and if i remember correctly it had something to do with payment processors as well, but it really sucks that NSFW content isn’t searchable. Perhaps you have to be logged in/verified/whatever and have NSFW turned on and then you can search NSFW projects. I realize not everyone tags their stuff properly or keeps it patrons only when it’s NSFW but it just sucks that those people affect those of us that do our very best to adhere to the rules so that minors don’t see content they shouldn’t see and in return be get shafted. Not all my content is NSFW, but because i enjoy creating and sharing drawn adult content in some fashion, no one can find me naturally on the site. (And yes, my NSFW content is what a lot of people watch me fore, even if it’s not the only stuff i do. I also create artist resources, tutorials, progress videos for art, have commissions, etc. Just because there is some adult content in there shouldn’t prevent people from finding me. That’s honestly kind of insulting and i have to market myself far more then i have income for just to try to get more people interested in a patreon project they cannot otherwise find.)

Welcome to the world of marketing, dude.
Your complaint also applies to an hundred of good looking girls who show their “skills” as gamers on Twitch or Youtube.
Or to cute podcasters whose “opinions” nobody would actually listen to, otherwise.
Even Paige Spiranac is known as a “golf player” but we all know her “golfing skills” are not the main reason she gets invited to tournaments. But still she’s referred to as a “golf player”, nonetheless.
So yeah, there’s nothing we (or you) can do to help this, it’s just how the (marketing) world works, I guess.

PS
And one last word of “encouragement”, if I may: people backing up such “photographers”, “youtubers”, “gamers” and such are not actually looking for the “real thing” in such departments, anyway.
So I guess failing to target that audience is not a big loss, after all.

We’re talking about NSFW photography on Patreon. Let’s not use that as an excuse to bash attractive women finding success in areas that men seem to feel are theirs.

thank you, couldn’t have said it better.

very good answer

Is loli/shota allowed?

No, that is not allowed as per the Patreon Community Guidelines: Community Guidelines | Patreon. That said, it specifically states in these guidelines the following:

We understand that some topics on this list such as incest or rape are a little bit more complicated because these situations are, unfortunately, part of real life. As a result, when reviewing this type of content, the Trust and Safety team will take into consideration context including personal, historical or educational narrative. For example, survivor stories or fiction such as Game of Thrones or Lolita are allowed on Patreon.

If you have specific questions about anything with regards to what is or isn’t allowed on Patreon, you can read these OR reach out directly to our Trust & Safety team. I do want to underscore that a real human will get back to you and can help to answer questions about a specific campaign. You can always reach out directly via community happiness who can connect you directly with the Trust & Safety team.

I hope you knew I meant as in drawn on paper/ cartoon, not real life/ live action.

Ah, ok, thanks for the clarification!

So is it ok?

Hi there!

My name is April and I’m on the Trust and Safety team here at Patreon – I’m happy to answer this for you.

As Carla mentioned, we don’t allow loli or shota content in any form, since it typically represents characters that are children. Anything that sexualizes children in any way is not allowed, even if it is drawn and not real life.

If you have other questions, you can always let us know here or by sending a note over to guidelines@patreon.com!
