I’m Joe Mynhardt, founder and CEO of Crystal Lake Publishing, a small press book publisher based in South Africa. I started publishing Dark Fiction & Horror books in August 2012 and became a full time publisher in 2016. Since then I’ve worked from home and started a Patreon page that same year, while being a work from home dad to our now 2 year old daughter. Time of life, but not easy. 
With the help of guest authors, flash fiction writing challenges every month, and just great behind the scenes access and exclusive content, our Patreon income almost equals our sales figures. Just amazing. We also give author support to young writers (with interviews, on writing essays, weekly exercises, and guest authors dropping by), so we target both authors and readers. We even started our very own dark fiction series on Patreon, with a team of five staff writers and an artist. My next goals is to turn this series into an audio production.

I am so excited and a little nervous about FINALLY launching my Patreon page. I had been sitting on it for almost a year and just decided to launch it AS-IS yesterday. I figure that I can always change things up once I start and get my feet under me. I am still trying to figure out Discord and find it kind of confusing . . .
