How to talk about Patreon

Hey creators,

One thing I hear from a lot of you, especially early on in your Patreon journey, is that you aren’t sure of the best way to talk about Patreon to your fans. Our recent brand launch can make this seem even trickier, as there is a ton of new language we use to explain how Patreon is a membership platform that makes it easy for artists and creators to get paid.

I teamed up with a handful of creators who are awesome at talking about Patreon to put together this short video. It’s the first video we’ve done with a more educational approach, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether or not it’s helpful and any ideas you have for other videos we could make next.

I’m new here, so I don’t know what other kinds of videos you’ve been making, but I like the format of this one!

In my current video on my profile, I talk about the history of small-sum low-profile patronage, referring to Frida Kahlo’s friends sending her checks on a regular basis for example. It seemed to have an effect–I gained some new patrons after posting–but I need to switch it up again. Thanks for the ideas!
