After working on the concept for my podcast for over a year, I’m finally getting it off the ground. The purpose of the podcast is to watch entire runs of series on streaming services then do a season-by-season review of each series, concluding with a final overall review episode. The name of the podcast: Binge Worthy Podcast.
I took the steps of setting up a Facebook page and Twitter account from the very beginning, and have since posted information about my Patreon on those pages since creating it.
I have a good start for my Facebook page (~200 fans/likes so far), but none of them have yet been converted to Patrons.
I would like to have some Patrons in place in advance of the start of my podcast (Episode 0 drops July 18). but I get the feeling that won’t happen until that episode drops.
I have what I believe to be reasonable tiers set up in Patreon, but I don’t know what else I can or should do to entice people to come on as Patrons.
If you would, please take a moment to look at my Patreon (www.patreion.com/BingeWorthyPod) and see what, if anything, I can do to improve things!
Patreon is usually intended to support creators whose fans already love their content, or to give bonus content to the fans. It’s not intended to really work the way you are trying it as you don’t actually have fans yet since you haven’t produced anything yet. Good luck!
I appreciate the feedback. I guess I was hoping some of my friends/Facebook fans would go ahead and support me in good faith
Oh, well. Guess I’ll keep plugging away at getting episodes recorded. My goal is to have 4-5 total episodes recorded by the time the show goes live so I will have a queue built up in case of emergency.
