Fiction Writers? How U do?

Hey @Michael_Loucks, I’m sorry for the delay to responding to your message, but that honestly seems like a really good idea as a replacement the Defense Reports with. So thank you

I’ve been working on my tiers as well. So basically my lowest tier just gets access to novels before I publish them to Wattpad. The higher tiers get a bonus story I publish monthly, voting power to vote on which novel I write next, access to deleted scenes and a personalised letter from an MC of their choice.

Hope that helps you out with some ideas!

I would post the text directly into a patreon post since they may share the link with someone else…

I do my Judge of Mystics series for my patrons straight into Patreon’s text post, with a framing cover image. Had far more success than something like a google doc, where they could potentially share it with anyone, unless you’re personally adding every email in with only certain view only permissions.

It worked even with my art posts, since patrons can choose to view posts with certain tags, and my serials are always tagged. Made it way easier for my peeps.

Then, once the series is complete and my beta readers have gone through it, I offer it as a paperback to my upper level patrons.

Hiya!
I write serialised fiction for my patrons and I:

A. Post directly into the patreon posts. I link to the full document when I’m going on a break so patrons can read the story in full and I also link to the full document when the story has ended.

I’ve mostly been sharing my art and jewellery so far on my Patreon, but I’m looking to start sharing more of my writing instead of just updates about it or sample chapters once the book is out. I want to offer some stories that are only available on Patreon (still deciding whether to make them patron-only or early access).

My plan right now is to share each installment directly in the post with links at the bottom to all the other chapters currently shared, but will likely get them all formatted and offered as either a PDF, MOBI, and/or EPUB. Possibly offering paperbacks they could purchase, but I’m not sure how to do so without making them available to non-patrons. I was also planning on making some artwork to share with each installment, and not sure how or if I’d include these illustrations in the finished/formatted copies.
