COMING SOON | Improvements to Patron Relationship Manager

Those are great insights! thank you for sharing @Dave_Humphrey, I’ll make sure the team sees them

So it looks like the display addresses part didn’t happen. I really need access to that. Is that coming out soon? Or did I miss how to get to it?

Good day.
I found a bug and I hope that you will fix it till the end of July.
I use CSV file for sending rewards. So I set filter like this:

and can’t find some patrons which status was paid.
These patrons have Paid status here (see May)(as an example):
Capture2
but also they have complicated payment history like this (see May):

These patrons marked Declined in the CSV file and in the search form in the web:

So another patrons (like this one) in July wouldn’t get their rewards. It’s bad.

P.S. old version of manager worked fine with it.

Something I noticed earlier today: I was trying to check the monthly roundup like the old manager had, but using the drop down in the new one and nothing came up. (Using firefox.)

I had active and declined patrons selected in the filter and nothing. I tried different variations and still it told me no one could be found for June.

I need to be able to check the monthly roundups and cannot. CSV also turns up blank because it cant find anyone. What’s going on? @.@

[Deleting my comments, I don’t have the time or energy to keep fighting tooth and nail for over a month just to try to regain access to the tools we used to have access to that are ONE HUNDRED PERCENT ESSENTIAL to how we operate here because we built our whole Patreon campaign based on the tools that Patreon provided. I’m done. Every time I come to the community forums it is to find out that things are getting worse. I have no spoons for this anymore, the constant fight to get even basic tools has completely disrupted my ability to create.]

Also, whoever made it so I have to wait a minute between deleting comments just makes this harder and more painful of an experience.

Super dreading when the end of the month comes and I have to mail out rewards to 200 some patrons using this new manager.

I downloaded the CSV… its an entire mess.
The sorting makes no sense. All my tiers are mixed together.

I really wish that the list would be sorted by tier. All of the $5 tiers together. All of the $15 tiers together. Etc. Instead of it looking like this…

examplepatreonlisting

This is going to be a nightmare to sort through myself and take so much time away from me creating content for my patrons.
I really hope this gets fixed before the end of the month.

I’ve experienced this as well and ended up with a handful of Patrons that would’ve missed receiving their rewards because the CSV file categorizes them as “declined” or “former patrons” despite their pledge counting for the current month (I have the pay up front feature.)

Before, I was worried maybe I incorrectly imported the CSV file to a spreadsheet. I’m glad you pointed this out so now I know it’s not just me. Inconsistencies like this are very bad.

Today I opened the manager to discover that not only do the benefits list, not match the Patreon manager, but the Patreon manager for July is DIFFERENT than what shows up as a default without selecting a month. I have no idea who I’ve actually sent rewards to now.

What on earth is going on here? Why are we beta testing LIVE creator tools? If it was tested before launch, it doesn’t show. This is not an update or an improvement. This is severely broken.

I really hope something gets fixed.

Please Re-enable OLD Patreon Manager, The New one is NOT a finished product.
i have 63 $15 patrons. and 5 Declined. I put Paid Filter and it Only shows 23 Instead of 58 and YES i Counted them manually and Re-check their pledges Manually.

@Patreon Staff: The last update/comment from you was from 11 days ago; could we at least get a confirmation that the bugs/errors are being fixed (preferably in time before the end of the month, when many of our goods are due to our Patrons) or perhaps having the old Patreon Manager re-integrated until the new one’s features are corrected?
A large group of us relied on the Manager to reliably track and deliver to those who are generously supporting us, especially during a time of a global crisis, and it’s disheartening to everyone involved when our explanation to our Patrons who did not get their rewards is simply “sorry, Patreon isn’t letting me send you your goods.”

Hi all, thank you so much for your feedback and patience.

We realized there’s a bug with the “Paid” filter so we’re working on getting that sorted and just launched a temp in-product solution. If you are looking for a full list of patrons who paid anything during a given month, use the following filters:

  • Select Active Patrons
  • Select a Tier
  • Select All Charge Statuses
  • Select a Month to see everyone who supported you within that month
This will exclude patrons who had payments that were declined and never successfully processed.

As for the CSV, when you export your CSV the default view is ordered by recent patrons. You can filter the CSV by tier in Excel, to see patrons tiers and their status.

I hope this helps! Please continue to share your feedback with us. If there’s a particular feature or workflow you’d love for Patreon to support, join our advisory group here to work directly with the people who are building your tools.

Hello there again.
I find that relationship manager shows me incorrect information for one more of my patrons. He was billed in this month (I got email about it) but his status is declined. He also has complicated payment history. I attach captures below:

I got information from the old csv export and he got processed status for this month.
I think that we have to check all declined patrons until all bug will be fixed.
I used reyna method :frowning:

This format is TERRIBLE for those of use who send physical rewards every month. I hand address packages, and the “Show Address” option in the older version was perfect for packaging by tier. This was literally the only thing I used the Relationship Manager for, and I was able to look at it on my phone while having a desk filled with mail. I’ve just spent an hour exploring to find addresses, and I can’t easily see it on my phone, and I’ll have to click so many more things to get to the right information while balancing my laptop on my desk instead of my phone. Please bring back an option that actually works for everyone.

Please bring back the old manager. The new one you are forcing me to use as of this month is really messing up my workflow. The old one allowed me to have every pledge for the month displayed on a single screen that I could control-F search. The new one makes it way, way harder for me to get done what I need to get done in order to see how my patrons pledges are processing and serve them.

Heads up…
I downloaded the CSV for July for all tiers and all statuses. Noticed that there were way more declines than what I ended with. I cross referenced with my own spreadsheets that I made before you got rid of the old patron manager… turns out I had a lot of patrons showing up as declined when their payments indeed have gone through for July.
Did some looking into it and found that everyone showing up declined are patrons declined for AUGUST (not July). But why is it showing up under my July CSV?!

Super not happy about this because if I didn’t cross reference with my own spreadsheets then I would have never caught this and some of my patrons would be missing their rewards for last month.

Currently working on full-filling physical rewards for my patrons from August.
Something that I notice is that when I download the CSV for August and was scanning through my patron list - two of my patrons were showing up as Declined when they in fact did pay me for August. I found it was showing their Sept status instead of August despite me narrowing the filters to August! I also tried downloading a CSV with and without the paid filter (same results).

The only reason why this caught my eye was because I have made my own excel document to keep track during the month who paid and who is declined because at this point I don’t really trust the new manager. And its extremely unfair to my paying patrons if I don’t deliver rewards that the pay for simply because the manager wrongly shows that they are declined when they have actually paid.

I super hope this gets fixed soon! This is month two of me having this problem with the new manager.

Still trying to make heads or tails of the new Relationship Manager WHICH IS MUCH LESS USEFUL THAN THE OLD ONE (There – I said it again), and in my filtered list of Declined Patrons for September, there are several showing as having paid on September 4, 2020 – thus… not declined? Ugh. I only send out physical benefits a few times a year, and I’m dreading trying to figure out who gets what the next time I do.

Can we please accept that the new R. Manager is unwieldy and buggy to many of us and give us the chance to go back to the old one, at least until these kinks are worked out?

Thanks!
