I didn’t read all of the discussion above, but I did want to briefly share my usage of each tool in case it is helpful:
Patreon Relationship Manager: I use this for searching for patrons, messaging them, and looking at their payment histories.
Patron Manager old version: I come here a few times a month to see how many people are declined. I like that without clicking anything, I can see “234 patrons” and “229 patrons processed” and immediately know that 5 are declined. Then I click into the big list, and I search for the word “declined” on the page. Each of those 5 people get an email from me, and conveniently their email addresses are already there so all I have to do is copy/paste their email address.
Patron Manager new version: I never use this, because the old version serves me better. Why? First of all, the overview page only shows me one number (229) but not the other number (234). Second, I have to do a filter to see the declined people, rather than just searching for the word “declined” (which to me is faster). Third, once I find those 5 people, I have to click on them to see their email address, which slows me down.
The only feature I can’t find is the Max Pledge feature in the old Relationship Manager where I could hover over their pledge and see if they’ve capped it. How do I learn that now? I have extremely high pledge levels for my Patrons ($100 is my most popular tier) and when I put out three Things, someone who just pledged might get charged $300, which could be TERRIBLE for me. Right now, when someone pledges, I go into Relationship Manager and confirm they’ve capped their pledge.
Help!
Also, I really love the old view of pledges by tier. I wish that was still available. It also made it really easy to select the folx I wanted to message.
I’ve never liked the relationship manager for many of the reasons others have iterated. It’s slow, too much whitespace, I have to filter to find things that were once displayed (like email address, slows me down even more), I can’t select multiple tiers at a time (which I frequently use to send bulk messages, so now I’ll have to do this one tier at a time), and so much more. Once again you are taking away functionality that I regularly use. (Remember the ability to delete a Patron that so many of us have complained about losing?) Please reconsider removing the old patron manager. RM is not a welcome substitute.
One hundred percent agree. And since it’s going to mean that I can no longer show the actual amount being pledged to my Patrons on Twitch, instead of whatever this bizarre “after fees” calculation is (which, as I have been publicly saying for years, is something which I don’t necessarily want patrons to see or care about–that’s on Patreon and their own fee structure), as of early July it will look like my Patreon has plummeted in support. Frustrated, after being repeatedly told that they would take our feedback into account, that they haven’t here, and are forcing us to use a manager which doesn’t accomplish what at least some of us want it to.
I don’t understand of what you guys Aiming for…
The OLD VERSION of Patron Manager is SUPERIOR…
It’s give us DETAIL of which Patron who’s pledge HIGHER, LONGER, even LATEST CHARGED…
And now you want to Divide them into more LESS INFORMATION and LESS INNOVATIVE Feature of Patron Manager ??
Like… WHY ?? I really don’t understand… Just bring back the Old Patron Manager…
Or at least GIVE US A CHOICE to keep OLD VERSION of Patron Manager…
I have always gone out of my way to use the old version, because it’s concise, has everything on one simple table, and is easily sortable by the columns I need most, mainly the last payment date. I keep it open on my computer sorted by date, so I can see whenever a new Patron joins and immediately offer them their welcome email and send their rewards, etc.
The new version seems to suggest that you can sort by date, but in reality it does NOT work. The dates are still all jumbled up, there is no way to get the most recent charge date to appear at the top of the list. And why would I want to scroll through page after page after page when going through my transactions, when I could simply use the old report that showed EVERYONE on one page? Surely all this whitespace isn’t doing anyone any good? Honestly, I think it’s a major headache and by the comments I’ve read here, I’m not alone.
while i’m all fine with the update to the system, can you get the export to CSV to actually output the data, as i need this to manage my patreon bonues, it currently outputs nothing
Same here. Always used the old version of Patron Manager, all required information on one sigle page that is actually missing in the new version that i btw never use due to the already above mentionned reasons.
Relationship Manager is even worse to me. All that white blank space… No information i’m actually lookin for when lookin for processed pledges.
I would rather stick to the OLD PATRON MANAGER!! Do Not Get rid of it PLEASE!
I wish the messaging system were smoother. I find navigating it a little chunky and clunky and I worry sometimes that welcome messages aren’t going out. I worry that they haven’t gotten other messages I send out to them personally. I would like to be able to embed links into personal messages since I sometimes send them personal bonus material for joining during the covid time as a thank your for spending their money on art when some of them are under or un employed atm.
Not sure I don’t like having multiple managers? I would like to voice I echo the desire to have the exit surveys to be more robust.
I don’t really use the management tools very much. The ones I like are when getting the month set up and ready to go for benefits for tiers. And the addresses for sending out physical rewards.
Not sure yet. Will heart the ones I agree with in this thread.
I do not like the benefit manager now including EVERY SINGLE THING. I liked it tracking physical rewards for each month because it was a check box I needed to make sure I tracked. But this new way of overhead for all things forever is… too much.
You can actually click the ‘status’ column twice (wait for it to refresh) and the ‘declined’ patrons will show at the top. I do this each month and email just as you do.
Thank you so much for all your feedback — keep it coming! Our team is hard at work logging these requests and making sure we’re giving you the tools you need to manage and engage with your patrons. We are excited to announce that all the functionalityof Patron Manager is now available inPatron Relationship Managerand yourEarnings Dashboard.
Many of you use the Old Patron Manager to see views of patron pledge status and charge dates to help with benefit delivery. With Patron Relationship Manager, you now have even more granularity in filtering, slicing, and dicing data to get a view of your patrons and a downloadable as a CSV (that includes email and shipping address, notes, socials, and all other patron data). You can also to set filters to see things like:
Active and up-to-date patrons by month
Payment history of individual patrons
Patron list by tier with payment status
Declined patrons in any given month
Highest paying patrons by setting price range filter
Patron’s first pledge date (“Patron since”)
Here’s a view of the new filters available in Patron Relationship Manager:
Check out this help center article to see the changes and new locations of the features you use. We’ve outlined where to find the new filters, how to filter patrons by month or by post, where to see your projected earnings for future posts, and added additional data to the CSV you can download from Patron Relationship Manager.
For those of you asking about messaging (threading and deleting messages), be on the lookout for those improvements as well. We know this feature and tool is an important part of connecting and communicating with your patrons directly and we’re excited to be enhancing the experience on both mobile and desktop. We’ll be in touch soon with an update on the timeline for these changes.
As a reminder, in early July, the Patron Manager view will be fully merged with Patron Relationship Manager and all functionality will live there. Again, thank you for your feedback and keep it coming! Share how you use these tools so we can keep improving them for you.
Please bring back the ability to select multiple patrons (but not all the patrons) in a tier. This is the way I send out rewards. I don’t just send out rewards once a month, I’ll get people all month long joining, so I really rely on the old Patron Manager system which had check boxes that you could select completed patrons for that month. Even if it was in the Benefits section where you are actually tracking benefits this would be a helpful tool. I would love the ability to select all the patrons for that benefit and send them all the same message without having to individually click on each user, load up their patron manager page and send. It’s just a bunch of tedious extra steps. Pretty please bring this back.
agree with this. i prefer the original version of patreon manager for this features. im seriously scared that they will remove all of the features i need in july :<
We have a “per creation” model and I’m seriously baffled at why are you taking away the “Estimate Earnings” from a post from everywhere? I still use the old “ManageRewards” page because I can see the estimated earnings there but nowhere else.
This information is completely lost in the new “Billing” page and in the new system as well, I’m using that information throughout the month to calculate estimated earnings after each post.
Can you NOT REMOVE this feature please and show that Estimate per post somewhere in the new system?
Thank you… It feels really bad to lose functionality.
I’ve been trying to ask a few times – how do you see whether a patron has a cap on their pledges (per creation) in the Patron Relationship Manager? I can only find that in the Patron Manager. You say that “all the functionality” is available, but I haven’t seen how to find this. Thanks.
I just want to be able to filter my current patrons by how much have they provided me in their lifetime. i give a special reward to those who have supported me $100 or more throughout their lifetime, and with the new manager you haven’t showed us a way I will be able to easily filter the 200+ patrons i got. I’ll have to send messages 1 by 1, that’s insane!
Ppppllleeeeaaaassseee let me filter by lifetime given support!!!
I’m unfortunately also in the camp of preferring the old Patron Manager. The new design of the Patron Manager, as well as the Relationship Manager, feels kinda like a mobile interface where each row has a lot of vertical blank space on it (presumably to make it easier to tap with a finger?), wasting a lot of screen real estate and resulting in a lot more scrolling. An interface that seems to be designed around the limitations of a touch device can feel very tedious to use on desktop. The lists in the old Patron Manager, on the other hand, were compact and neatly organized, with lines separating the columns and color coding of ‘Processed’ and ‘Declined’ which helped me more easily see at a glance whose payments are processed and whose aren’t. I love color coding!
And while all the drop-down filters in the Relationship Manager do have most of the features, it feels like more of an IQ test to use than the old Patron Manager, lol. I don’t think that’s a particularly good thing, personally. It adds to the tedium.
My main concern, however, is that in the Relationship Manager I can’t find a way to indicate that I’ve sent someone their rewards through a private message, like I can with the ‘Mark complete’ feature in the Patron Manager. Every month there are some people whose payments are delayed and don’t come through until after I’ve sent out the rewards to the majority of patrons. Once their delayed payments have come through, how will I be able to find them and tell them apart from the people I’ve already sent rewards to? I would like to be able to send them their rewards too, even if their payment was processed anywhere from a few days to almost two years late, which is sometimes the case.
Ideally I’d also want to receive an email notification when these delayed payments are processed so I can know exactly when I’m supposed to send these people their rewards.
Also, let’s say I wanted to send a message to 10 specific people in a given list of filtered patrons. In the Patron Manager we have the checkboxes as a way to select them. But I can’t find that function in the Relationship Manager. It would be nice to have there.
I hope my explanations make sense and maybe help a bit!
Hi, in the old Patron manager you could tick off individual patron’s as you work down the list - I include shouts for specific tiers in my vids so I need to ensure I include each relevant patron.
In the new version there is no option to select or tick off a patron, so this is too confusing for me to use, hence why I always revert back to the original patron manager.
I’ve got to admit, it looks like it will be a nightmare to use this new version for my needs, any chance you can include the selection boxes in the new one please?
