The Check It Out link at the bottom of your Patreon emails doesn’t work for me unless I’m already logged in to Patreon. That may be a curly one to resolve, but I thought I’d just let you know.
Yep, this is the way it is supposed to work. I think this is because content is often gated by a tier, so that is why. We can definitely improve on this, but that is the logic behind this.
I think that would be good, Carla, because the Patron may only know about a post because of an email notification and then they can’t click Check It Out because they’re not logged in.
That’s quite obscure for most and a quirk they may never be able to work out for themselves.
Ultimately, I feel it’s likely to increase frustration and reduce engagement.
I agree with this. It should definitely be improved. At least have it open a Patreon page to log in at. Emails are a fairly integral part of patrons receiving information in a lot of cases.
I remember when Patreon email links used to open the page regardless of being logged in and that was a problem since people could share their email link with friends and the masses to share private works. So thay isn’t where I’d want it to go but the links should be functional even if it just takes people to a login page if they aren’t currently logged in.
OK, the team is digging into this a little more. @Jack can you share with me via DM the patron’s name? It would also be awesome if they could take a screen shot of exactly what happens.
