Anyone participating in the #100DayProject?

If you’re not familiar, the 100 Day Project is an art project where you commit to focusing on performing one action of your choosing every day for 100 days, and share your progress on social media. It’s a great way to help you get into the habit of something or simply exercise your creative muscle.

The project starts back up again on April 4th (I’m considering doing it for creative writing.) Let me know if this interests you and I might put together a bit of a support group!

Happy Friday, everyone!! :tada:

Yep, I’ll do it. Gonna write a line of lyrics per day,100 days, and post on Twitter (is Twitter allowed?). Expect random. x

Great idea! Yeah, I’d imagine Twitter (or whatever social channel you’re most active on) would be a great place to post. Love random.

I’m seeing these crop up everywhere lately, and this is super cool! I did a Year of Creative Habits in 2014/15 where you create for 365 days in a row, and right now I’m 74 days into a new one that started on January 1st this year. The 2014 one was for artwork, where I drew something everyday (or worked on an ongoing art project) and wrote about it/shared my work on my blog. During that time I created my website (robert.mittonvillage.com, for all things related to my creative habit), started my Patreon stuffs, and it’s really ridiculous just how much you learn when you work on something every day for 365 days in a row.

Anywho, this year’s project is focused on photography, as it’s always something I’ve wanted to do, and it’s related to my digital art stuff as well because I like to take reference photos. You really find out what you’re made of and how committed you are by setting long term goals like this. I encourage everyone (literally everyone!) to try this out. Even if it’s 100 days, just do something repeatedly (but try to keep it fresh and interesting so you and your fans don’t get bored), and see how it effects you after you finish. I’m 100 times more productive these days after finishing my first 365 days a couple years back

Thanks so much for sharing! Just hearing something you did like this a few years ago is still having effects on your productivity now is very motivating for me.

Yes! Even on days where I don’t intend on going out much to take photos (like super cold winter days) I still end up squeezing time in to do it. It just feels weird otherwise! Good luck, Lochy! Are you perhaps going to do 100 days or something? I’d like to stay in touch and see what you do with it. I’m Zemus101 pretty much everywhere, like Twitter and Instagram

No, but I did a Make 100 project on Kickstarter in February. I opted to do 100 handmade heart-themed postcards, and also offered printed postcards and glass tile pendants based on some of the designs. It was a lot of fun.

I think I’m going to use it to get in the habit of doing a daily sketch. I think if I plan for a 15 minute daily sketch I can do at least that on my busiest days and then when I have more time I will probably spend more time on it. I hope! So I’m setting a small, attainable goal for myself this first time trying it. I think I will probably let patrons do some character requests to tie my Patreon in. Once it’s over I will also let them decide which sketches they want to see me develop.

I’ll have all of mine on my Patreon first and all my posts are public there, but I’m also on Instagram as AngelaLochCross. I’ll follow you and keep up with your progress.

(I replied to this a week ago but never hit the reply button… )

This is a wonderful idea! Normally i come across something like this half - way through so i am pretty excited to see that it hasn’t started yet, just signed up for updates. Not sure what i plan on doing - i think some sketches maybe as i really need to build up my portfolio.

I’ve been thinking about trying to make a music video every day as an exercise for a while now so maybe I’ll use this as an excuse to do it. Obviously not full music videos, but some short clips lined up to music and a simple creative concept. I would post them all on my Instagram, and the ones that turned out well on my Patreon

Posting here mostly to to hold myself accountable…

That sounds like a great idea! Didn’t realize it had a ‘starting’ date. I’ll be committing to drawing every day, and will be sharing each drawing (whether it’s just a sketch or a more finished drawing) on Instagram/FB/Twitter! And a support group to make this happen would be great.

Hey everyone!

I just added you all to a special group, which will enable you to participate in the #100DayProject category, which is invisible to anyone not in the group. I did this so that we could ensure that we are all starting this together and keep any random posts out of the category. If anyone is just viewing this thread, you should be able to join the group freely.

Bear with me, as this is the first time I’ve created a group and so am learning everything at the same time as you. Let me know if anything is difficult to understand and I’ll do my best to explain how everything works.

First step for you is to go into the category and make your commitment.

I was tagged for 7in7artchallenge and failed that. mind you, I am moving house! I’ve got a book I am supposed to be illustrating though, so might pick that up! Can I be added to the special group?
