I had big plans for nano this year, but a LOT of life stuff has come up and I’m way behind on word count and with the holiday I don’t foresee getting back on track AT ALL. I’ll keep at it though.
I do monthly because the “still getting paid” part was why I couldn’t do per thing. I always give my patrons the option to lower their pledge or stop pledging for a month during November, but I’ve yet to have anyone do it. Most understand that creatives need paid vacation time too, if you can call it that since I’m still technically spending all my time creating.
I actually just started a separate Patreon for my writing and this is the month I promote that one. I have a lot of writing works in progress just a I do for art and I’ve been randomizing what I work on each day and sharing the first sentence and current wordcount on my Tumblr, playing word games with my followers, sharing older stories and other similar writers’ stories, and just trying to get engagement going so I have a richer community.
