I would love to see some data that shows whether users are clicking the tags, and where they’re clicking them. I’m betting that they’re not clicking the list of tags very much.

It is so hard to navigate patreon posts. Tags are a start, but not very user friendly. I have one post I use as an index page, but it only takes you to the tag - you still then have to click for the page.

  1. Please can we have editable images for the tags - the blurry stuff means nothing.
  2. Please can we put internal links down the side above or under tags to take patrons to stuff of enduring interest. At the moment it all gets buried.

A few minutes ago I was checking one of my posts, wondering why it wasn’t showing up under the tag “Patron-only videos” - well, turned out I’d mistyped the tag as “Patreon-only videos” - so I went to edit it and low and behold:

I know this feature had been requested and in the works for quite a while, and I just wanted to give a shout out and say THANK YOU! It’s a simple (but very helpful) feature and I’m happy to see it here.

Praise all that is good: I just typed the tag for my current project on today’s post, and the magic auto-complete pulled up the correct tag.

Windows/Chrome latest version. Your mileage may vary.

This autocomplete is so gorgeous :open_mouth: It even shows how many times the tags are used on other posts and I just love that.

They work great - and right to have them not case sensitive, I think. However, I agree with @Lochy: I too have some tags that are capitalised. It would be nice to keep these as an option, but would this create duplicates?

I think that just means that they will come up as you have set them, regardless of whether you type upper or lowercase. My tags are all capitalized and the autocomplete respects that, it’s not making them lowercase or anything.

Hi all! Glad you found this on your own - I was away on vacation when my team finished this up. I just wanted to reiterated (from joumana) that the search is case insensitive, but you can still select between tags of varying cases. Happy April!

Thanks so much! This is going to make it easier to go in and fix my tags that should all be the same, but are more like: Sketch, sketch, sketches, as I’ll be able to easily see when I have something like that going on and go and clean it up immediately. I may be the only one using my tags, but I use them regularly and I’ve got too many with that kind of thing going on.

Time for Spring cleaning! :tulip:

Great job, @erin and team. This addition is a real time saver: I’ve been opening another tab, and scrolling through post tags in a new window to find the correct ones. Thanks for making tagging a little simpler!

Now that we have the tag autocomplete (I helped lobby on Twitter! @TreseBrothers) it has become painfully obvious how bad most of us we with tagging punctuation. I have “Star Traders” … “star traders” “startraders” all as tags, and a ton of other mixed up tags.

Is it possible that there is a way to bulk correct bad tags? Or could all tags just be made lowercase for simplicity’s sake? In my case, that would crush about half of the tag duplicates.

Anyone else having this odd issue where if you , or tab it’ll add the tab but keep the text you typed? Like if you type out TAG A then do a comma it’ll have (TAG A) as a tag but also still have TAG A as text remaining.

Thanks for flagging! I actually spent some time with a creator last week who showed this to me as well. I’ll be logging a bug for it… very, very strange indeed!

Now that I’ve been using Patreon for a while, I’m definitely feeling the pinch of only being able to add 5 tags per post - so I’m bumping this topic for the attention of the product team. Any reason for this limitation? Even just adding ONE more would help me a lot :wink:
