This would be AMAZING! Having a staff posted topic, with information on whats in the works and letting us ask questions and give feedback is exactly what a lot of us want (though i won’t speak for everyone. This is just from those i’ve talked to.)
And I don’t think you should single yourself out, Carla. The staff on duty here seem to change a lot and these issues aren’t unique to you. Overall, everyone on the Patreon team should be more transparent. (Like, the blog post didn’t address a lot of our questions, but it was something.)
Can’t really add a lot, it’s already been said and I fully agree on closer collaboration being the best way forward, also to figure out how to recover from the consequences of this week in limbo. But most importantly for me right now: Thank you for listening and doing the right thing.
I think I’ll be able to sleep well for the first time in a week tonight.

And back to this fees rollback. We are working on some targeted messaging for patrons who changed or deleted their pledge. More news to come on that too.
Thank you for listening. You are right in that Patreon does need to do a better job of listening and sharing. Creators and Patreon need to work together harmoniously - many of us creators are here because we want to offer something of substance to our patrons in return for their support, and Patreon allows us to structure that. Anything that drives patrons away or makes their support more complicated to give is against all our interests. There will need to be a lot of trust rebuilt over a long period of time, and many creators have suffered losses of support and patrons that will hurt them in the short term and be difficult to recover in the long run. I am willing to see where the future takes us - hopefully this is only the first of many actions Patreon will take to show it is committed to its community’s needs.
What Temrin said. We would have appreciated more transparency, but really, we were referring to everyone - you just happened to be the one posting in this particular thread, so we had a name to attach our posts to.
Just want to chime in and say thank you for listening! I hope and believe this mess will lead to something great in the end for creators both big and small and for Patreon!
Cherish this community with so many creators that are incredible invested and passionate about Patreon and want to see it succeed!
I would like to thank the creators who voiced their disapproval loudly all over the internet, including this forum. I agree this fee change was a bad idea and I’m glad we were all able to put pressure on Patreon to stop the implementation.
I would also like to thank Patreon for listening and changing course. Many companies would have not done the same. A different company would have probably locked this forum, blocked any dissenters on their social media channels, and gone forward anyway.
