Public Teaser Text - No Opt-Out?

I feel the blur for locked posts is way too subtle now. You can make out some of my rewards really clearly. It would be nice if we could set the amount of blur in our creator page settings.

For anyone else having an issue with this, the workaround I found is to make your own teaser image as the featured image, and then embed the actual reward within the post itself.

Let us know how you’d like to see this functionality evolve.

So I had a bit of trouble with the teaser text yesterday. I did not know it just auto fills I wrongly thought it wouldn’t have a teaser text if I did nothing. My posts usually have important tier specific links and discount codes at the TOP of the post so my patrons can easily find it and not have to scroll or anything

As you can imagine this was a BIG LEAK. Even people just coming to my landing page could have seen those exclusive links and codes and ran with it.

Of course I take full responsibility, I should have checked but as I went in to edit the teaser text to delete it or change it, the box was grayed out and not able to edit. I ended up deleting the text at the top altogether.

So what i would like is a universal “never use teaser text” switch we can maybe activate in our settings, not every post we make. It’s not relevant to my patreon structure as a whole anyway and again when i do use text it’s usually to just insert tier specific information. I mostly post images. Along with that, I think the blur on the images need to be stronger, maybe even mosaic pixelation if you have to. Maybe it’s because I drew the images, but I can CLEARLY see what the image is.

Also is the not being able to edit after you post a bug or a feature? It was really anxiety inducing. I felt like I betrayed my patrons by carelessly giving out info that was supposed to be only for them. Again, my fault for not checking when I new teaser text rolled out, but I didn’t expect it to just… be on? I don’t know LOL

Thank you!

Be careful, I thought I fixed the issue by adding teaser text but somehow the teaser text got deleted and the codes became visible once again :frowning:
So what I did just now is to add a bunch of asterisks at the beginning of my posts. Also links in teaser text aren’t clickable so it’s better than pasting the URL as raw text
