Pinned Posts Automatically Set to Patrons Only

Well, I guess I will just tell those people that have posted about being turned away by the $$$ signs being the first thing they saw… that they are wrong! Why trust the customers when conversion metrics tell you those dummies are wrong? Stupid customers and their actual experiences, am I right?!

I will now once again give up posting on this forum secure in the knowledge that doing so is totally pointless. Thanks!

@american.mcgee, I am so sorry if I came across as dismissive of your concerns. We are planning on investing in this area, and continue iterating on the product. At this time, our efforts are focused on shoring up functionality like PRM, and messaging, annual memberships, supporting international creators, and merch. Sadly, it’s a matter of managing limited resources otherwise we’d do it all now! But I assure you this is an area we plan on investing in.

I am a traditional Blackfoot elder and am using this Patreon platform as a way to help my son come back home. He is currently in the hospital. We are raising money to retrofit our home to bring my son back to heal. My community has helped me put together this page. In here I share stories, songs and teachings about the traditional Blackfoot and Sundance way. It is not in our way to ask for anything. It is out of necessity I have come here and I am very grateful for the support thus far.

My humble request is that I would like to pin my introduction audio post to the top of the page so that potential patreons can get to know me and the story of my family. At this stage it is buried amongst other posts. Although I describe in the written word in my about section, it is sometimes best to share through living stories.

The feedback I am receiving from potential patreons (mostly old like me) is they cannot find my audio introduction. They do not find it user friendly or engaging and they would like to have it pinned to the top so that they can easily access it.

Hi @Leonard_Dayrider - thank you for sharing a bit about your Patreon and your family. I hope your son is healing and in good spirits

Unfortunately, we do not offer the ability to pin a public post. However you can pin a patron-only post to your feed for new patrons to see when they join.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience but hope this is helpful info. You can also see how to pin a post here.

Thank you for your quick and informative response. I would like to point out that I am not the only one who faces this issue. My voice is echoed by other patreon creators in this thread. We are clients of yours and am offering feedback as to how your service can be more effectively and more in line with out needs. We pay very high service fees to use your platform. Can you please forward this thread to your supervisors and decision makers? I am sure we would mutually benefit from this change. The change would make this platform more appealing to Patreon Creators and users and make your platform more accessible.

I greatly support the people asking for public pins.

I want my pinned post to be viewable for EVERYBODY. Since it is a post containing the Chapter list of a long series with the first 6 chapters being free, and the about section doesn’t have to be where that list goes. The about section is about the “about”, not about a list.

I am so sorry but I have to say it. Forcing this feature for patrons-only and not allowing their clients to choose what best suits them is just plain stupid and shady, and the devs are way too stubborn about it. They get money from this, they ought to be professional and do what they must do and be mature about it. I hope my words get to them.
