All the people who were declined on my patreon are still declined. How do I know if they’ve been retried. How often do you retry? At what interval? What happens if you fail and we get to next month? A lot of my patrons set it and forget it and don’t come back to check the state of their patronage so may not even realise there’s an issue. It doesn’t feel like there’s much happening to sort it out other than an email to patrons telling them to go sort it out on their end. Lost quite a large chunk of my revenue this month.
Same here… Still showing a lot of declines, only a few seem to have fixed their issues.

@mooderino This blog lets you know what we’re doing, which includes:
- Retry billing daily
- Email patrons to let them know there was an issue with billing and to reattempt
- Place a banner on their Patreon page prompting them to update payment info
- Restrict access to patron only content until past due bills are collected
@mixikitty I would recommend you and your patrons write to Patreon support so they can take a thorough look at your account and see what’s happening.

I still have 7 declines which is more than usual but down 50% from payday.
I have eight declines, six of which are showing that the last attempt at recharging them was on 1st/2nd August. The daily attempt to try again doesn’t seem to be very consistent.
My understanding of offshore processing is that users will have to call their banks more frequently to authorize charges, and they’ll have to deal with foreign transaction fees. This is not ideal.
(Declines are also still double~triple their usual rate for me)
Hi everyone, I know there are still some questions and concerns in this thread so I checked with the payments team today and we are seeing average decline decline rates for the month. Any remaining payment declines are likely to be for the usual reasons, like insufficient funds or a patron’s expired card. I’d recommend reaching out to the patrons whose payment is still declined and ask them to check with their bank, update their payment info, or ask the support team for their help. Patreon will keep retrying payments and contacting them.
We want to work on making this (and other payment information) more easily accessible in the future, as I understand that the more info you can see yourself about your patrons payment, the less scary this process is. I’ll leave this thread open so you can keep leaving feedback about this issue.
