Thank you!!
Good luck to you as well!
Thanks so much Jonathan! Your video made me feel so much peace, I’m so glad you decided to go forth with this beautiful experiment! The world will be better for it. All the best, Shawnee
Hi everyone!
I am an artist and educator promoting the use of nature journaling and mindset journaling as a learning tool and art form. I just launched my patreon recently and am in the difficult stage of trying to ask all of my friends and family to join. I have a relatively small social media, email, etc audience to start with so I am trying to build my audience and my patreon at the same time.
here is a picture of one of my nature journal pages: img-824092418-0025|378x500
Hi, my name is Ingrid! A newbie to this community, though in November I’ll be celebrating my second anniversary on Patreon (golly time flies…). I’m an artist/illustrator working full time, much of that time spent painting sketch/art cards for companies like Topps Entertainment, Upper Deck, and several independant companies. Patreon was a way for me to figure out where I wanted to go with my painting, as well as figure out a sustainable way to make a living as a freelancer.
Everyone here already knows how hard it is to make a living as a creative…
A platform like Patreon is still something I’m trying to understand: what are the best perks and rewards for Patrons, how can I give back when I’m not yet sure what I have, and other silly questions.
Perusing the forums here (mille merci pour l’invitation!
) it’s easy to see that many of us have similar questions, so here’s hoping we can learn from each other and all succeed! https://www.patreon.com/ingridhardy
Hello!
So I’m Sarah Dawn, and I’m a Fiber Artist/Knitwear Designer! (For those of you who still wonder what I do, I design knitting patterns for hand-knitters!) I’ve been in a few knitting books and magazines, and I also self-publish pdfs.
I’ve been on Patreon just over a year now, but I’ve only been doing this business for about 2 years, so my Patreon is understandably slow, because my audience is still comparatively small. I’m also growing my Patreon and my base audience at the same time.
I’ve got a couple things planned to hopefully grown my audience – I want to film some Youtube Knitting tutorials, and I want to translate my pdfs into Welsh (as well as posting more Bilingual Welsh/English content) so I’ll see what the next few years bring!
I’ve been looking around the forums this morning. Thank you -so- much for the invitation – I’m already learning some stuff!
Hi, I’m Rose. I write an advice column for writers called Story Hospital: https://storyhospital.com/ and https://www.patreon.org/storyhospital. I’m in the middle of my annual patron drive right now and hoping to boost my numbers! Looking forward to meeting you all.
Hi, I’m Psamathes. I’m an Italian singer specialized in versatile vocals and one-woman choirs (I basically sing a little bit of everything!). I mainly do videogame music vocal covers and original songwriting. I recently launched my Patreon to support production for my first full-length album, and my main goal is to build a bigger audience. I use Patreon to share singing advice, show progress on my current projects, and write small composition on themes suggested by Patrons.
Looking forward to meeting other creators! : )
G’day (Aussie for good day or hello).
I am a photo historian (local history) and amateur photographer based in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia…
I manage many local history facebook pages and as a result of the popularity of my Lost Shepparton Facebook page I started a shop called Lost Shepparton, located in the local Museum.
I produce and sell photo books, calendars, DVDs and photo prints etc.
For the past 4 years my 13,000 fans have enjoyed free FB content (photos videos etc) and I decided I needed to find a way to monetise all that hard work. When I discovered Patreon a month ago I knew I had found what I was looking for.
It’s a slow process to convert fans into patrons but I am prepared to put in the time and effort. Some initial good signs but slower than I thought. I keep finding creators I want to patronise as I really believe in this approach.
I look forward meeting and sharing with this amazing creator community.
Hey, Everybody. I’m Jon Hakes and I write fiction.
I have a handful of traditional short story publications (the kind where you send to a magazine, cross your fingers, and hope they pick you). Since May 2014, I have produced a monthly short fiction digest at www.patreon.com/JonHakes. Each issue currently features a short editorial, a nanofiction (a story of ten words or less, not counting title), and a featured short story of at least 2000 words. I also produce a free-to-the-public bonus issue each year.
At the end of June, I self-published a short story collection (ebook only, for now), “Stumble Into Power” (http://www.lulu.com/shop/jon-hakes/stumble-into-power/ebook/product-23701946.html). A large number of stories included in the collection originally appeared in my monthly issues on Patreon.
Looking forward to interacting with more of the community!
Jon
Hi Everyone! I’m Gwen and I use Patreon for my webcomic The Crystal Saga. It’s a mash up of fairy tales with girl power and true love and magic and rocks. Lots of rocks. And rock puns.
We all know how the fairy tales end. Sometimes what’s important is the journey to get there.
My journey is definitely the focus of my Patreon. I’ve been on Patreon since (holy wow) 2015 and while I haven’t been too focused on growing my audience, the supporters I do have are steadfast and amazing. Patreon lets me share behind the scenes what goes in to making my comic - from inspirations and sketches to animated processes and the final product. Plus any extra goodies along the way! Sometimes I take for granted how far I’ve come (because I jumped into webcomics without a lot of know-how) but being able to see my progress and my supporters has gone a long way into keeping me going. I’m just a little pebble of the Patreon mountain, but I try to gather no moss.
Currently I’m in the middle of a hiatus while I get the rest of my chapter back to a place where I can maintain regular updates. NOT what I planned, but what inevitably happened. Looking in to the new year at restructuring my rewards and tiers to keep things fresh and interesting.
So excited to be here!
Hi! I’m Rob Kovacs and I create piano arrangements of Nintendo music. Glad to be here!
Hi, we’re Jef and Jon of System Mastery. We make a podcast that reviews old roleplaying games and interviews game designers. The show is about five years in the running so far, and we just hit one of our biggest milestones at 2k per episode. Happy to be here! Patreon has allowed me to quit my day job and support myself and my infant daughter, so she can dodge daycare!
Hey, all! I’m a full-time traveling [nude] model. I also am a photographer, run my own studio, and run photography meetup events for photographing models. It’s a fun industry and Patreon has allowed me to reach fans in a great manner.
I also create handbags/totebags including custom ones which work well for things like pets
Peace everyone! I’m so excited to finally be able to be around and meet other creators like myself. Blessed for Patreon (changed my life), blessed for this PatreCon, know this will be loads of fun!
Love & Blessings,
Kendra aka Pretty Boss
My name is Alan Roger Currie, and this is my very first PatreCon! Enjoyed meeting Mindy Day, Glen Henry, Linda Brandt, and Destin Sandlin this evening!
Hi were both Amelie and Nikola and we run The Flute Channel patreon and on YouTube! We recently came back from patrecon 2018 and are looking forward to making conversation with all of you!
Hey there, I am Kate! I just came back from Patrecon, and I am so sad it’s over, but also so energized about getting back to work. As for what I do, I create mental health illustrations as a way to fight against my innate negativity. It’s like Lisa Frank collaborating with your therapist.
I am excited to meet more of you! Thanks for reading.
Team Patreon & Fellow Creators,
My name is Jonathan Abenhaim (like Anaheim California with “b”) and I’m a professional cg animator - sorry for the confusion, asked my parents about this wacky spelling and they simply smiled …and THAT was the end of that conversation! lol
I wear a few creative hats:
1) During the day, I work as a professional animator (18 years of animation: AAA Games, Television, Mobile Games & Films). I’ve had the great privilege of working on some very popular game titles that help my career take off such as Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, Bungie’s Halo 3 and more. Recently transitioned into movies, The Kid Who Would Be King is the lastest film I recently finished animating on.
2) During my evening’s I produce Youtube videos to share my production workflows for creating high end cg animation. My channel is called #watchmeanimate and it’s geared towards aspiring animators right up to seasoned pros.
3) 2006-2008, I co-founded an event with 2 other industry friends, called //ADAPT (Advanced Digital Art Production Techniques) which created a very big buzz at the time. We brought in artists from world-class studios to share their production workflows. We had the honor to have Phil Tippett keynote our 2007 event (Oscar and Emmy Award-winning visual effects supervisor - Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Robocop) and in 2008, Andreas Deja from Walt Disney Animation Studios did our keynote (Beauty and the Beast, Alladin, The Lion King). I wore a lot of hats for these events: artist relationships, host, graphic designer - creating our program guides, posters, banners etc. I met some wonderful people and learned a LOT from doing these events.
4) From 2009 - 2013 I was a very active DJ spinning in some of Montreal’s very popular venues which sadly closed down now (Globe, Meditteraneo, Terrasse Bonsecours - this is one that is still opened) My music taste was heavily influenced by Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfold. My DJ sets are still available on the very popular FriskyRadio which I was honored to have the privelege of creating exclusive sets for. I haven’t done any recent sets in years since my energy has shifted but hopefully will get back into it soon enough!
At the moment my heart is set on growing my Youtube channel / Patreon and giving back to my community. I’m a 1-man show doing all my video editing, sound design, graphic design and pretty all social media marketing etc. It’s been about 3 years since I launched my YT Channel (7k) Facebook Page (5k) and almost a 1 year since I kicked off my Patreon page (fluctuates between 40-50 Patrons). Everything’s been done organically (no ads, just a LOT of hard work) and having come back from PatreCon 2018, I am pumped as hell to take my Patreon page to the NEXT LEVEL!
A heartfelt Thank-You to every one of you behind the scenes at Patreon making the magic happen. Jack, if you read this, you and your team are the real-deal and I can’t f***ken wait to see where we will be in 5 years from now! Very exciting times to be a part of Patreon, THE platform, for us creators!
Warmest,
Jonathan
Love the work I gotta take a peek later this week, but it looks great!
