Introduce Yourself!

Hi Patreon peers! I started my Patreon campaign a few months ago. It’s off to a pretty good start, although I haven’t had nearly enough time to promote and share the campaign with my fans!

I have been running a popular website about fire-dancing and poi-spinning for many years, along with a Youtube channel and my Facebook streams. I learned about Patreon a few years ago, but couldn’t use it until it became available for Canadians.

I’m fortunate to have a small but enthusiastic fan-base, as a result of my pretty persistent posting of photos and videos for the past 15 years. My head is spinning with all the thoughts, of how to best use Patreon to create a more interactive, personal relationship with the people who most appreciate what I do, and specifically to help them feel a part of it.

If you want to have a look at what I do: My patreon page is patreon.com/nickwoolsey and my website is playpoi.com.

Cheers,

Nick

Hi everybody! Glad to be here with you. This week is my first week as a full time freelance illustrator and designer. It also marks the opportunity for me to get fully behind my Patreon plan and really push it. I have a feeling this community will help tremendously. It already has!

Here is my Patreon page if you’re curious! I am a work at home dad, illustrator, designer, husband and father of three in Harkey Valley, Arkansas. With a special place in our hearts for kids questioning gender norms, my family and I are busy creating Bash-O-Bash. The first Bash-O-Bash project is a book called The Bulb. We are writing and illustrating it now!

Hi, I’m Andy

I’m currently working on the Liberty Foundation, which supports artists who work on the internet by giving them the tools they need (read: cost of living grants and business development support) to grow their practice into an independent business.

I’m also one half of XOXO, an experimental festival for independent artists who work on the internet. (And hey Jack spoke in 2013!)

I also just joined Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/andymcmillan I’m going to use the project to talk about the creative practice of producing events and building communities—primarily through a podcast.

So, yeah. Hi everyone!

Hey!

I’m Neil and I look forward to this community where we can all interact and learn from each other

I create ice hockey related videos on YouTube and cannot with fellow hockey fans around the world! I discuss serious stuff such as standings, plays, trades, injuries, etc… but I also create fun videos too where I look at different hockey leagues from around the world. Specifically I like to look at their logos and different arenas in each country!

I started my patreon on January 1st and it’s been an incredible trip ever since. I started creating content and tutorials for 3D and animation, which have been very well received by the community, the start was a little complicated and the movement was slow, but today we have more than 80 Patrons in our community and every day is more active, I have managed to maintain patterns since the first month which is an incredible honor for me. If it were not for the existence of this community I would not have been able to develop in the same way. Thank you all!

This month we have our first gift sponsored for Patrons by the Redshift Render team, a $500 license.

here you can see a little bit of my story, my Patreon and my page

And a little bio.

I am a 3D artist from Costa Rica, a beautiful country in Central America. I have 9 years working in many different areas of 3D, from Archiviz to animation, and now videogames and short films. I decided to study animation and 3D when I was 15 years old. I can remember my teachers saying to me that I should think about a different career (there was just one college that had animation here in Costa Rica) and most of the people do the entry exams for one of the best colleges here, but I decided that I did not want that for me. That really angered my teachers. After that I went to college and started studying animation, spending two years in college, but having to drop out early.

A week after I received an email asking me for me portfolio, and a company here decided to hire me. I started work doing videogames for flash, a really curious job. We had to do everything from the 2D concept and illustrations, to 3D rigs and animations for the games. I had the pleasure to work with a lot of talented artists that helped me grow (I was 20 years old when they decided to hire me).

I can be described now as half self-taught artist, I had some great teachers on my first days of college like the John Timms or Omar Moreno, I cannot be more grateful to them. The other part and most of my knowledge comes from my own studies, experimentation, and industry experience.

Hi Guys, René here. I’m 43 years old, from Berlin, Germany.

I run the Blog nerdcore.de, I do so since 12 years, 10 of these professionally. I was among the first to make a living off of private writing on the web (in my country) and one of the first to monetize it. That was my first shitstorm back then, too… good times

I also invented some local memes and 1 international one too, some years ago I posted a Futurama-Screenshot with „Shut up and take my money“-Typo and from there it went to reddit, you know the rest…

Usual story: Advertising is down down due Facebook and Clickbait, so I finally switched to Patreon (and a local version of the abonnement-model). I totally dig it, instantly improves writer-reader-relationships, so I’m really optimistic tbh.

Looking forward to this.

best
René

Hi Im Amber! I just joined last Friday! I’m a musician from Brisbane Australia creating music videos! Hoping to expand, meet some new people and create an awesome community.
Lovely to meet you all! This is my page here! If you wanted to check it out! xx Amber

Welcome to the community, Jesus! So cool to hear about how you came to create what you’re doing on Patreon—thanks for sharing your story!

Hi. I’m john. Helping people create an income stream from trading financial markets. Happy to help serious people.
I host a weekly webinar and release two videos a week for those that follow the financial markets or want to copy my trades. Doubling of your bank annually is realistic after some mastery of the tools. You can read all about this on my page. www.patreon.com/TradingSkills4u

Here in the community I am interesting in some cooperative projects but yet to find similar folks doing what I do.

fingers crossed though.

Best regards
John

Hi there! I’m mostly known by my online alias, Violet, and I use patreon to help fund my artistic pursuit. I’m relatively new, but so far it’s worked out quite well. It’s really exciting to be able to make a living off my illustrations, which has been my dream since I was a child. I’m grateful to have been invited to this community and I look forward to talking to you all

Hi, I’m Aaron. I’m using Patreon to fund building a Web app, which seems a little out of the ordinary here, but whatever. The app is used to map out dungeons/villages/caverns/sewers/etc. for Dungeons & Dragons and similar games, using 3D-printable tiles. Then, of course, you go print (and paint!) and use them in a game. The app is at studio.dungeonprint.com and my Patreon is patreon.com/dungeonprint

Hello everyone. I’m Caspian, from Puppygames (http://www.patreon.com/puppygames). We are trying to make games but we are always perpetually broke or panicking about money. We were hoping Patreon would help fix that, though we haven’t quite figured out how yet, because games take such a terribly long time to make, which is a hard sell for a monthly pledge.
