Improving the Non-Creator Experience

Patreon is following Youtube’s mistake of featuring, supporting and helping a tiny handful reach astronomical heights. While not only ignoring, but making it hard to find the rest.

I site YT’s megastar - Pewdiepie as an example. They made him a multi-millionaire, now he’s a source of shame.

I ran my poll on my nsfw Patreon and though I have only 2 patrons and 3 followers on that one, I have gotten 5 votes at 100% on the “Yes, with toggle” option.

After tomorrow, I’ll run the same poll on my primary Patreon. (I’m runnin’ my character of the month poll right now and didn’t want to have two goin’ at the same time.)

A new piece of feedback from a patron:

Here some Ideas: could Patreon do something like a time locked access to past content? Such as you need to be a paying member for, say 3 months (something the artist can set), before past content is unlocked?

I like that. A lot of creators use Gumroad and other similar sites to sell access to previous month’s Patreon content. It seems it would not only streamline the process for creators if they didn’t have to deal with outside sites (less time managing and more time creating), but also incentivize patrons to stay on Patreon, which would mean more money for Patreon in the long run. This kind of goes along with the cumulative tiers mentioned in another thread and I’m all for it!
