Every month, Patreon CEO Jack Conte and members of the Patreon team go live for Hang Time, where they highlight all the news, events and announcements they think creators need to know about.
In the last Hang Time of 2019 we asked viewers to fill out a quick survey to give us feedback on how we can continue to improve it. One of the clear things we saw is that you want more creator guests on Hang Time! We asked What do you wish we started (or did more of) during Hang Time? and here are some of the responses:
Is it possible to incorporate a creator interview every month?
Interview successful creators about what works for them, and how theyāve gotten past roadblocks in their career
Keep it up with your interviews with staff as well as creators
Creator Success Stories, ideas for Patreon rewards
Collaborating with people is good, but collaborating with people that are from different areas (both geographically and types of professions) is great for expanding audience.
Right now, we need some social support more than ever. Thatās why tomorrowās Hang Time livestream hosted by JackConte and thetarynarnold at 10 AM PT will be focused on advice & resources to help creators make the most of this trying time. Hope to see you there
For those who have been regular attendees of Hang Time, we wanted to pause for a moment to say thank you. Seriously, thank you for joining us every month to laugh, learn, and even cry!
Weāre always looking for ways to improve and grow; weād love to hear your feedback on Hang Time.
Whatās your favorite hang time moment?
What do you want to see covered thatās not been shared so far?
Is there something else we could do in the time to better serve your needs?
A Patreon mug would be great! More penguinators would be greater. Hang outs usually happen at a time Iām not available, but now that I know about replay opportunities, Iāll try to catch up! Thanks for the work.
What I could use now more than ever is some live music - I havenāt been able to make a lot of the previous hang times, so I apologize if this is generally a part of the event that I am unaware of. (Also, good idea to send mugs as a way to get folks to give feedback )
Looking forward to it, it will be a chance to discuss and chat with others creators that works in the same art, i call it āBest world imaginatorsā, canāt wait until that day
What is coming up in the May 29th Hang Time? Thanks! I am new here so I may just not be able to find the info. Thanks in advance for any help or links. <3
Will the sales tax information talked about in the May 29 Hang Time be different from the sales tax information Patreon has already provided?
Thank you!
Iām so excited! This is my first time doing this. But maybe i have a question? How does patreon algorithm so people can see our pages on patreon without (although weāre not) maybe share our links social media? I know itās a stupid question but Iām just curious to find creators on patreon per category. Thank you!!
Really looking forward to meeting other creators .Also I love coffee so a mug would be awesome
Just feels like a great time to gather and share ideas and meet other creatives
But first, thank you for running this. Iāve been to most of the Hang Times, and had a blast, even if Iām just lurking in the chat and knitting.
Itās hard to pick one thing for hang time thatās been awesome, but, for me, I think itās just the chance to āmeetā the Patreon people and see that theyāre not your usual ācorporate dronesā, but creatives, just like all of us.
Iād like to see interviews with more varied creators ā folks who are doing something a little more un-traditional on Patreon. As someone whoās doing something āweirdā on Patreon myself, it would be great to see what other folks are up to who donāt fit into one of the usual Patreon boxes.
As for serving my needs, please, -please- live caption the Hang Times! Itās really rather frustrating when I canāt follow what someoneās said because of my sensory processing issues around audio.
Hey! Although I havenāt been able to attend all of the Hang Time sessions, when I do, they are always super fun! When I get the last minute email about how Hang Time is starting, I almost always drop everything to get onto to the stream as fast as possible!
I love how you are bringing creators on to the stream to show what they do along with how they do it. Seeing a look behind the scenes of some of these great creators is not only very interesting, but very inspiring too!
I personally feel that it might be cool to have another specialized hang time session for growing your audience naturally and maybe for some really small creators to get some spotlight. As a small creator myself, I would love to see some āhidden gemsā that are just starting out. I think it could really bring up the community too! Iām sure you can see from my profile, I donāt have any patrons yet but am slowly starting to pick up momentum on my YouTube Channel. Seeing these other creators and their creative processes really inspires me to keep going with mine! So thank you for everything you do! Also, Patreon mug?!?! I didnāt even know that was a thing! Does Patreon have a merch store?
Anyways, thank you again and I canāt wait to āhang aroundā with you all this Friday!
Iām a new visual artist (digital - abstract / surreal) artist on Patreon and have been posting on social media (Facebook, Instagram, my own website) for a while now, so Iām struggling with how to integrate Patreon and how that will change the posts on the rest of my social media.Iād love a talk about how to structure what to post on my Patreon page. How to organize what to post in my other social media and website so as to not give away anything that my paying patrons are getting. Thatās a big issue for me and why Iāve not been posting anything on Patreon because I genuinely donāt know how to do this.
Thank you for the opportunity to bring up this suggestion.
I love the idea of creator interviews! Itād be great to see how other people use Patreon, what works for them, and what kinds of rewards they give. Also yessss for Patreon mugs!
