In the last Hang Time of 2019 we asked viewers to fill out a [quick survey](https://forms.gle/X3DXbPWXNugNrkhh6) to give us feedback on how we can continue to improve it. If you weren’t able to, you can always watch the [replay any time](https://www.crowdcast.io/e/hang-time-january-2020). @OdeChan kindly wrote up the tips from Maura, Head of Data Science at Patreon aka the god of data: - - Normal conversion rates of IG to patreon is 0.5-5% - Frequently promoting your page will help conversions. - Images in tiers convert better than those without. - Try to check your page on mobile and see that it looks good. - Avoid having too much text on your page to avoid needing to scroll a lot. - Exclusiveness and recognition are two key rewards that help convert (ask your patrons what they would like). - On YouTube: Have your Patreon URL in both the pinned comment and the top of your description. - 3-7 days is average amount for early access. - Podcasters: spell out your patreon URL during the podcast episodes From [Bob and Henry, Talking Simpsons](https://www.patreon.com/talkingsimpsons): - Collaborating with people is good, but collaborating with people that are from different areas (both geographically and types of professions) is great for expanding audience. ---

What I could use now more than ever is some live music - I haven’t been able to make a lot of the previous hang times, so I apologize if this is generally a part of the event that I am unaware of. (Also, good idea to send mugs as a way to get folks to give feedback 🙂 ) ---

I’m so excited! This is my first time doing this. But maybe i have a question? How does patreon algorithm so people can see our pages on patreon without (although we’re not) maybe share our links social media? I know it’s a stupid question but I’m just curious to find creators on patreon per category. Thank you!! ---

OOoh! Mugs! But first, thank you for running this. I’ve been to most of the Hang Times, and had a blast, even if I’m just lurking in the chat and knitting. It’s hard to pick one thing for hang time that’s been awesome, but, for me, I think it’s just the chance to ‘meet’ the Patreon people and see that they’re not your usual ‘corporate drones’, but creatives, just like all of us. ❤ I’d like to see interviews with more varied creators – folks who are doing something a little more un-traditional on Patreon. As someone who’s doing something ‘weird’ on Patreon myself, it would be great to see what other folks are up to who don’t fit into one of the usual Patreon boxes. As for serving my needs, please, -please- live caption the Hang Times! It’s really rather frustrating when I can’t follow what someone’s said because of my sensory processing issues around audio. ---

Hey! Although I haven’t been able to attend all of the Hang Time sessions, when I do, they are always super fun! When I get the last minute email about how Hang Time is starting, I almost always drop everything to get onto to the stream as fast as possible! I love how you are bringing creators on to the stream to show what they do along with how they do it. Seeing a look behind the scenes of some of these great creators is not only very interesting, but very inspiring too! I personally feel that it might be cool to have another specialized hang time session for growing your audience naturally and maybe for some _really_ small creators to get some spotlight. As a small creator myself, I would love to see some “hidden gems” that are just starting out. I think it could really bring up the community too! I’m sure you can see from my profile, I don’t have any patrons yet but am slowly starting to pick up momentum on my YouTube Channel. Seeing these other creators and their creative processes really inspires me to keep going with mine! So thank you for everything you do! Also, Patreon mug?!?! I didn’t even know that was a thing! Does Patreon have a merch store? Anyways, thank you again and I can’t wait to “hang around” 😉 with you all this Friday! ---

I’m a new visual artist (digital - abstract / surreal) artist on Patreon and have been posting on social media (Facebook, Instagram, my own website) for a while now, so I’m struggling with how to integrate Patreon and how that will change the posts on the rest of my social media.I’d love a talk about how to structure what to post on my Patreon page. How to organize what to post in my other social media and website so as to not give away anything that my paying patrons are getting. That’s a big issue for me and why I’ve not been posting anything on Patreon because I genuinely don’t know how to do this. Thank you for the opportunity to bring up this suggestion. ---
