+1 this request. In addition to wanting to give Patronage to users who contribute to our show with time instead of money, even my own co-hosts can’t see what we post in Patreon unless they too support our own show. So they have to pay me to see their own content. Seems very backwards!
By being able to give out Patreon tiers for free to certain users, we would fix a lot of the awkward workflow issues we have with the platform today.

Same here; unlike a solo podcaster or illustrator, my art by necessity involves collaborators with full creative authority but who I don’t necessarily want accessing patron contact info. Currently the only way to share patron-only content with them is to share a login which is pretty bad security practice.

Ooh, I really like the idea of a “peer pass.” I’m swapping pledges with so many fellow creators where both of us are basically just paying credit card fees for no reason.

-I would like my wife to see all I post on my Patreon without having to pay the most expensive tiers, and no credit card involved.
-I also would like to thank my best, but poor, readers.
-I would like to give a year patronage as Christmas present (not only to my Patreon, but other’s). It would be a great present! and an excellent way to discover a creator. Also excellent for birthdays, anniversaries… I think we NEED this as much as our readers’ partners, lovers, parents, family…
-I also would like to raffle a year long patronage among all my readers (with a code on the books, and also to my followers on social networks).
Patreon needs this to grow up!

How about an option to grant free access to exclusive content to any user we want.
It may be used as a prize in like raffles and/or contests, or to provide access to people you work with, or as compensation for (ie) “disappointed patrons”.

I would LOVE to gift patronage to people that help me in other ways. Also perhaps as a special perk to top fans-- gifting them for a month or perhaps to a certain post that contains a cool piece of extra content (which might be a good promotional tool also-- after they get a little taste they may dig it and become a patron to keep seeing new content). I also would love to grant access to posts with bonus podcast episodes to the guests that appear in them. If this feature were made available I’d use the crap out of it!

Some questions on the ability to offer Patreon patron membership to my page as a gift, purchased by someone else, or given by myself as a free pass.

I also love the idea that someone could pay for patronage a year up front, for established creators who have been active for over a year. It would also make a great gift option.

I have no update to give at this time, sadly. It is a request that gets especially popular around the holiday season and one I will be bringing up on Thursday during our bi-weekly feedback session. I’ll update this thread as/when I know more.

If there is pushback due to concerns about “abuse” of a gifting system, perhaps a compromise would be to allow a limited number per creator for now… For example, I have 4 people who are extremely involved in getting my work out there (agent, editor, etc) and it would be nice for them to see all of my posts without paying.

I think similar questions have been asked, but not quite… There are a number of people who support me uniquely by being regular clients. Is there a way to kind of “grandfather” them in to Patreon, or somehow include them in it? Some are just afraid of signing up for yet another thing, or similar, even though I’ve tried explaining the idea. Or maybe it doesn’t even matter…? It just seems like it would be not only a bit easier, but time-saving as well, if updates, posts, and lens clips could go to those supporters as well. Perhaps tempt them on board. Thoughts?
